I would personally prefer a roll back to what we had a couple of weeks+ ago, but now I'm even starting to find the idea of a money reset appealing.

 

By all means spare the rank, gear and unlocks but it turns out there is such a thing as being cumbersomely rich.

I mean, who would have thought I would be missing having only a few millions but having a bank balance of over 7 billion is ridiculous. Just by playing a couple of hours today I went from 3 to 7, rofl.

 

Surely Rockstar has got to start considering the idea. And if that happens, is there even a point in playing at the moment since it would be wiped ? By all means, let's enjoy the event and messing around with our fellow GTA players...but I see little point at the moment in farming RP or doing anything that's progress orientated.

 

 

Do you guys think something like that is going to happen after the holidays or is Rockstar just gonna let it slide ?

I think nothing is going to happen, the damage is done, people have their money already. And resetting everyone would make a lot of legitimate players angry.

 

What would be the smart / reasonable thing to do is reset everyone with over 200 million, we all know no one has achieved that legitimately yet. Then reset everyone that's over Rank 200.

 

But knowing Rockstar that probably won't happen, they want to keep everyone happy - which at this point is impossible.

You would need to go higher than 200 for level...i am 187 and completely legit for rp. I also know a few friends over 200 legit...maybe 300 would be better.

Reset the game completely, kick all known hackers, or even those who brag about hack effects, and remove currency from the game completely.

Everyone gets an Emperor to drive and they're all baby pink. Everyone has to wear a dunce hat permanently. All weapons to be replaced with bananas. All bananas fire blanks. Melee weapons are replaced with pillows that do no damage. Unarmed attacks result in hugs instead of punches or kicks.

 

Nerf Online completely, it's already ruined.

Even a friend of mine who was happy to get his modded cash of billions now just seems bored as hell. Barely 2 weeks ago he was complaining about being poor. Now he has it all and misses being poor. Went full circle really fast.

 

I think R* is just waiting for players to finish sh*tting all over the place before they do a proper ass wipe. Maybe they are holding back for a real fix and total reset in a few months from now.

I agree completely, that's why I hope they might consider doing a cloud server rollback. This way nobody really "loses" anything. You just get taken back to what your character was like before all these shenanigans began a few weeks ago.

 

I've prefer having to grind 20 levels again and lose all my hacked money rather than having to start from scratch all over again...

Mission replays and RP exploits like criminal records weren't technically a problem. They got patched when Rockstar realised it allowed people to progress much faster than intended.

 

Many games nerf missions after release when they realise it rewards players too much.

 

There is a world of difference between hacking billions/ instant RP hacks and pre-nerfed missions. You can't honestly put both on the same pedestal.

After the BS I encountered last night I think they should just turn off the servers and scrap this mess. In 1 hour I saw 1 guy invincible several level 20-30 players with tanks bombarding the city a level 168 who had no skills above half the first bar no way you get to 168 without at least maxing driving. Bounties were on half the lobby. I am done with online its been ruined by idiot hackers whose consoles need to be bricked and should be banned from video games for life.

I suggested the reset because it's what a lot of people seem to be suggesting.

 

Personally I think a cloud server rollback is the fairest option. Would I rather lose my character entirely or just go back a few weeks ? If Rockstar ever addresses the situation, I believe it would be the fairest option to the legit players.

 

I already said in my OP that the whole thing would be pointless anyway, unless Rockstar can ensure that all that hacking nonsense is resolved for good (or at least pushed back into obscurity). So yeah you're right, not much point in doing anything if the hacking persists...

Keep in mind that the people you see in here asking for a reset are a small percentage of the total forum members and the total foum membership...hell add up all the members of all the forums across the net talking about this game...is probably less than 10% of the number of people playing the game. The other 90% are merily playing the game and dealing with things in thier own way. Unless Rockstar does a poll on the front loading screen of the online portion of the game that will not allow you to play unless you say yes or no...AND they get a supermajority positive return...they should never do a reset.

That's how blizzard dealt with modders back in D2.

 

 

Let the players choose. Either play in the broken modded version where they can do what ever they want OR let them start over by choice.

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't expect this thread to be representative of the entirety of the GTAO population, just maybe a little inkling of what people think.

 

Like most people here, I suspect Rockstar isn't going to do a thing. But if they ever grew some balls and did, then I hope they would consider doing a rollback. This way nobody would be truly "damaged", just having to catch up a few weeks of playing again.
