$150 Million

So last night I'm playing legit, grinding away on hard-mode missions with tank rampages in between. So it happens I get dropped into a hackers paradise, multiple $200 million bounties going up right and left. I get gifted $60 mil, and then another $100 mil again.

 

Spent 10 of those fatties on redoing my garage (not chrome adders), now I'm stuck at $150 mil.

 

This isn't a whine thread, I don't want to report myself to C* or give the money back.

I was gifted $76 million maybe a month ago by some guy I just honked at and didn't fight with. He was clearly only giving it out to non-douche players. (Glad he didn't see me the other 364 days of the year ).

 

I've since been given a lot more than that - a hell of a lot more. Since then I have spent and spent and spent and spent. I've bought cars and replaced them 1/2 an hour later because I like the look of something else instead, only to then buy back the one I started with. I've swapped apartment and downgraded to garages, just to try out different locations. I even bought every mask and item of clothing available to me, despite never using 99% of it. The list goes on and on.

 

This isn't me bragging - I'm just trying to put this into perspective.

 

Out of that original $76 million, I still have $30 million left, after all that. $150 million is more than enough to keep you in luxury for a long time.

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

 

I think it's hilarious how everyone argues back and forth about this stuff. I have no problem with people glitching/hacking/whatever money or RP for themselves, or even for those who ask. We're all at least semi-intelligent here (sorta), you know the risks if you do it.

 

HOWEVER, my only issue is the people who "give" it out to those who don't ask. I hate being forced to play restricted sessions just to avoid someone ruining my game for me. And yes, for my play style, getting "gifted" money or RP will ruin my game. I like the sense of accomplishment, like when I finally reached $1m legitimately yesterday.

 

Cheat all you want, just don't force me to. Let me play my game my way.

Now that the money glitch floodgate is closed, it seems obvious in retrospect that some money glitchers who created and handed out billions in GTA0 probably had the mindset of typical internet "Anonymous" or LULZ type hackers that simply used the GTA0 player population as pawns to try to undercut millions of dollars in real sales of cash cards, in other words, purposely trying to cause (some superficial) financial damage to TTWO.

 

So the shenanigans were not about us, not about "ruining our game" but about the age-old lulz of internet vandals. But since the hack was so easy, every little brat was able to do it, which made things more widepsread and more interesting.

Good point, saintsrow. I can definitely agree with that; however, from my POV (the only one I can see from), getting "gifted" would ruin my game for sure!

 

I remember when R* was "the rebel". I read a post on here a few weeks ago where someone was complaining about them, and saying they were going to take GTA out of the console and play a different game. Who made the game they were going to play instead of GTA? EA
