Black & White
You may not know who Vito Rizzuto was. Well.. he controlled the Rizzuto crime family in Canada and was once regarded as Canada's most infamous criminal. He was born in Italy and arrived in Canada in 1954. His father, Nicolo Rizzuto, soon after became a criminal and an associate of the Cotroni crime family based in Montreal. By the 1970s, a war between the Rizzuto faction and the Cotroni faction occurred. The Cotroni crime family boss died of cancer in 1984 and so the Rizzuto faction took over the-then Cotroni crime family in Montreal. By the late 1980s, Vito Rizzuto headed a huge drug empire and earned a place in the Bonanno crime family, becoming inducted as a soldier, and a close associate of the c*ntera-Caruana Mafia clan also based in Canada. In 1998, Sicilian Mafia informant named Francesco Di Carlo stated that Vito Rizzuto controlled Canada. In 2007, Vito Rizzuto was finally imprisoned for five years for racketeering and being involved in the murders of the infamous three Bonanno crime family captains in 1981. Upon release in 2012, 32 alleged rivals of the Rizzuto crime family were murdered.. All of the murders remain unsolved. * Emilio Cordileone, Tony Gensale, and Mohamed Awada were all shot dead for kidnapping a Rizzuto crime family ally. * Raynald Desjardins and Joe Di Maulo were both shot dead at Di Maulo's home. Former Bonanno crime family acting boss, Salvatore Montagna, whom was once Vito Rizzuto's right-hand man, was shot once and found dumped in a river in Montreal. Three of them were killed for pushing for power and trying to become the top members of the Rizzuto crime family. Vito Rizzuto did indeed live a hard life. His son was shot dead before Christmas in 2009, his brother was kidnapped and assumed killed in 2010, and his father was shot in the face by a sniper bullet 10 days after the murder of Rizzuto's brother. Vito died at the age of 67 of pneumonia. Did anyone else hear about his death?

Smith John
How can he be the Teflon don if charges stuck and he went to jail? Doesn't Teflon mean nothing sticks? Gotti? Canada actually had a mafia? I'm finding that way funnier than I should. From what I understand with my very amateurish expertise, the Montreal mob grew to become just as powerful and influential as any of the "Noo Yock" families in recent years. Black & White
How can he be the Teflon don if charges stuck and he went to jail? Doesn't Teflon mean nothing sticks? Same as John Gotti. John Gotti was tried four times, and was convicted in one trial. Vito Rizzuto was summoned to more than five trials in his life, including orchestrating the murders of 32 people. He was only convicted once as he was speaking on the phone, which he normally didn't do.
Danz.
I would actually bother to discover who he was if your post wasn't all written in black. Underlining isn't my strongest skill. Good riddance anyways. Edited December 27, 2013 by Danz. Tacymist and Black & White
