Rockstar suspending gameplay to fix Godmode and Money hack issues

I guess I wouldn't mind. They pretty much changed how freeroam is played.

 

Nobody is chasing simeon's cars, the armored trucks, doing robberies or even doing good old fashioned GTA trolling. People don't even/barely deathmatch anymore...and that makes me a sad panda.

 

i disagree about simeons cars... i still do that and i see a lot of others still too but probably only bc they can f*ck with someone else trying to get it

I can't see them doing it now, when thousands of people will probably get this game tomorrow. It would have made sense 2 weeks ago but this proliferation of modders has happened so quickly, R* seem to always be playing catchup.

I seriously doubt that many are getting a 3 month old game tomorrow. It's more likely thousands will get ps4s and xbox ones. I pity them if they do freemode is unplayable on public anyway a needs some serious debugging.

Everybody is either

 

(a) chasing hacked bounties.

(b) trying to kill the hackers.

 

B is quite a lot of fun but it gets boring after a while. Especially when you realise they placed hacked bounties on themselves so even if you kill them while they are using godmode, you still end up getting corrupted by their nauseous influence...

 

From what I understand, there's even hackers in missions sharing money,etc...

Are races and TDMs still safe or did the hackers get to them already ?

 

How am I supposed to farm the trust no one achievement/tattoo if no one gives a sh*t about my lures anymore, lol ?

 

I've noticed that there's less people fighting over high priority vehicles, as well. Still get some resistance at times, but it's mainly just to troll, it seems. Less and less people doing DM.

 

There's been WAY more armored trucks over the last few days and that I've seen people be pretty share-y about - you get a few, I get a few, etc.

I doubt they will, but I would be all for closing the servers until they gain control. Repair the game, put in proper security - security that can detect who IS and who is NOT hacking/modding, and take action, THEN letting us play.

 

I usually wouldn't really care, but what they're doing now is actually punishing innocent players, and it's just wrong.

I know right, I found a nice sultan RS and and started using it as a lure to get players to jump in to blow them up.

Usually I would get at least 1 kill per GTA session with that bait, but since this week I only got 1 guy yesterday.

 

Might have to try with another car, I think the sultan is much more common nowadays, but still...I think a lot of it is to blame with the hacked bounties. I saw a lvl 19 yesterday driving an adder ( I checked the players list to see if he had a high level alt and sure enough...he didn't have one.) while his mate at lvl14 was driving a Z-type.

A lot of the exploits ocurred in defiance of the nurfing of payouts, rp, sharking (my term for orientating towards shark cards) and R*'s lack of knowledge of RPG mechanics (farming is simply playing the game properly, repeatedly). Unfortunately the hacking/modding has taken a life of its own and has gotten ridiculous (standard downfall of rebels without a clue). I'm not a fan of R* at the minute, but now is the time for our support against the hackers. I've been gifted 200 million so I'm off to explore the game for a while and then delete my character (can't beat a bit of knowledge). If anyone plans to do the same, be careful. I set up a second character only to be gifted the second I finished the first Gerald mission.

 

Also Private sessions aren't guaranteed as if you want to race someone you often end up in a public session. At least I do as I have no invitable friends.

Disable it at the same time the new SP content drops. That should keep everyone pre-occupied for a week or so while they implement changes. After a week I can see people getting pissy.

the god mode issue is bad because people dont quit. they feel like they have to try and do something to the person. if everyone just stays away, they leave. i dont care if someone is using god mode, i just avoid them or leave the session. there is always somewhere to go. its not nuketown on blackops... theres a massive world to go act a fool in.

Edited to include: I've restarted online. In a race I entered to level up I picked a job from the pause menu only to be thrown into a race on criminal records with what was effectively an unbeatable ghost (couldn't press left to view the player on the betting screen). I started the race to see what's what only for him to ram me (so definately someone there) and for him to crash and spawn at full tilt in front of me immediately after. I paused and quit session at that point. It seems the races are banjo'd.

you're right dude i find myself chasing bounties and i already have 30 billion I just wish people who do missions, but there are none the buddies whom i use to play with have put the game down... smh it only had a 2 month shelf life

Me and my friend made a god mode player leave the session he wasn't the smartest player while he was hidden off the radar the whole time. He had of his low lvl friend in lobby going around running ppl and when players respawn the friend that's hidden on the radar and in god mode will just spawn kill! I'm glad i was with a friend at the time and both decided to call Lester and go off the radar and grab our tanks. Since the god mode player wouldn't die and every missle that you shoot at em will toss him around so we kept killing his low lvl friend and continue to punish the god mode player the whole lobby didn't mine and they participated on the fun shooting RPGs throwing Granades hosing them down with a fire truck and taunting the 2 players lol! It went on for a good 20mins all you hear is the other players laughing and enjoying their revenge kills also this was the only time I ever played in a session where every player got along and worked together to punish these god mode players!!

Why suspend Online if like you said the issues are already there. The damage is already done. Why not just fix it, it's been almost 4 months since the release of GTA V.

I'm more than happy to keep my gifted millions and play the game as it shold be played i.e. missions, survivals, races etc. If only more players had this attitude we's be probably able to keep our gratefully received but unsolicited charitable donations. I like being able to choose if I want to play properly or just mess around and not have to count how many bullets I'm firing for fear of bankrupting myself.
