Just got my Ipod touch this past Monday, and I gotta say it's pretty good for a $300 dollar player. Didn't come with the new apps in the January update cryani.gif But who cares, I don't give a sh*t.

People who bought it in January are eligible for the apps for free. Don't think the details how to redeem them are out yet.

I f*cked up my jailbroken touch so I updated and bought the apps since I could not be arsed jumping through the hoops required to port maps and mail back over.

Got my MacBook yesterday, still trying to adapt to the new operating system and all these foreign programs. Just one quick question, is there a way I can write some movies to disk so I can watch them on the go without carrying all my DVD's around. I bought the mid range MacBook which has a DVD burner so I know it is possible. But yeah a little help would be nice.

Now I've just gotta figure out Boot Camp so I can install Microsoft word for Uni and play some games woooo.

Yeah. Get yourself a copy of Mac The Ripper. That'll decrypt DVDs and save 'em to your harddrive. Then you can use Mpeg Streamclip/ Quicktime Pro to shrink 'em down with h264, and save your disc space.

I finally got around to mounting my ipod touch above my CD player in my car, it's hooked up straight to the deck using an 8th inch jack. I managed to completely hide all the wires for that and my subs, and it's really f*cking sexy.

Also, Apple TV Take 2 is out. But nobody cares about that, I'm waiting on the iphone/ipod touch SDK to come out. That's going to be the sh*t.

Anyone else have an iPod problem where the iPod will crash, and you have to let the battery run down, and charge it back up to use it again? Can be so annoying, especially if you have gone for a walk into town.

What kind of ipod is it?

Well, mines the older 4th gen, I didnt want the fancy more expensive one. But my gf told me that its happened to her friend in college, and she got a (new?) thin one.

I have a 2nd gen Nano that will crash occasionally, usually right after I sync it. Resetting it (Menu button + middle button) always works, though, and then it'll shut down normally.

Anyone with a iPod touch/Phone should jailbreak it. Makes it so much more, GBA and PS1 emulators are avalible for it aswell. It's a pretty simple process for 1.1 iPods. Whats coming in the SDK anyway? I haven't been following iPod news as much.

The SDK is coming before the end of the month, so it's pointless to jailbreak now.

What does the SDK actually enable? If people make apps through them won't they have to go through Apple? Sorry a bit light on knowledge on this area.

It will basically be just like the widgets are currently handled. Third party apps regulated by apple, will be downloadable (sold?) through itunes.

This is my first message from a 17" MacBook Pro. Pure awesomeness. icon14.gif

As awesome as they are you probably chose the worse possible time to buy. We are well overdue an update.

When is the new MacBook pro coming out, sometime soon? To be totally honest, I don't know what else they could add to this machine! Leopard is installed on it and I have iWork '08 and Office '08. I'm happy as long as a virus doesn't f*ck up my work as it did on my previous laptop.

I'm looking into buying an iPhone.

I want a 16GB, imported to Australia. Should I wait till 3G one comes out, so I get it cheaper? Should I get an iPhone at all?

Should I get an iPhone at all?

In my opinion (and that's all it is), an iPhone is a waste of money. While it may offer convenience and look swish, it's expensive and offers no more than a decent, cheap phone and a mega iPod. Okay, so you have a Google Earth-alike, and can play the guitar on them, but this is merely thief bait and pretty much useless. Like I said, that's just my opinion, so don't feel too swayed by it.

Any other iphone/ipod touch owners here? I'm pretty f*cking excited for the 2.0 update, and SDK. It turns something I've already purchased into something so much more powerful.

Aye, when is it out? Hoping it and Appstore will function with Jailbreak.
