So I ditched my HTC Sensation, and got an iPhone 4S! I'm happy with it, and was an android fanboy despite owning lots of apple things. Now I'm the opposite, definitely prefer it to Android. The fact all (good) new android phones are basically tablet sized helped sway me. lol.gif

Also, I got IMG Tool working on my Mac, so can now mod III, VC and SA! biggrin.gif

Most of you guys have probably heard already, but nonetheless. tounge.gif

Anyway, I was thinking about doing a little Apple Store spree and picking myself up an iPhone 5 as well as an iPad Mini. I don't need to open up an new Verizon account or use an "upgrade", would I? I've never been so sure how that works, so y'know.

I have a storage crisis at the moment. I've got my iMac with 1TB internal with 3 external USB HDDs of 1TB each. All of which are full to the brim. I'm currently undecided what to get, either a 3tb time capsule or a drobo v2 http://www.scanmalta.com/eshop/drobo-v2-4b...rage-array.html (obviously I will eventually populate that with 3/4tb drives.

Any recommendations? I'd like to move storage away from the iMac as much as possible since I don't have any power outlets left and there is no more physical space on this desk to put them on.

Has anyone ever used a time capsule device before? Can you disable the time machine features which, although needy, I find no current use for. My main priority is expanding storage space for media. Can I simply use that for that purpose? Also, does the time capsule actually act as a wireless access point for all devices, how does it work?

Nice. Is it pretty bug-free? And are you a developer? I've read that you can install it without being one.

I registered my UDID with imzdl.com for $8 Not sure exactly what they do but I think they go to apple and register your phone as a "beta tester device" or something.

as for iOS 7 it feels like a whole new device, It pops out of the screen at you for some reason. Love how its implemented. The only thing is that given its a beta device, the user experience is not there yet and it has quite a couple of bugs, Dynamic wallpapers cause the phone to respring, apps crash (mostly: settings, maps, facebook, facebook messenger), photos are not being sent to facebook messages and whatsapp and animations are not 100% smooth, they sortof have that slight lag you see on android devices.

All in all though it's still a first beta, and so far its a step in the right direction. My only downside is that I think the UI is so colourful it sort of hurts my eyes.

I've put iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 too and I'm definitely a fan. A lot of people are criticising this new interface but I think it's a massive improvement, flat design is the future. I've experienced a few minor bugs with the interface but I'm sure it'll all be worked out by September.

Love the design myself but can't help but feel I've seen it before. It's a very "borrowed" design, I'd have to say.

Anyhow, kinda bummed the new iPad wasn't announced. I knew it was a longshot, but... I've been holding out for it. wink.gif

I've updated to IOS7 and I dig a lot of it - the finer text, the simpler design... but the colours are killing me. I also wish they'd reduced the size of app icons as well... all that sexy new paralax backgorund, and we've got these big garish buttons on top of it? Lame.

Had upgraded to iOS7 on my iPad too. I have to say, the new unlock system is great but my current wallpaper is destroying my eyes.

Is there any way to downgrade the software on my IPhone 5? I downloaded IOS 7 this morning and it's absolutely horrid. I can't believe they would butcher the iOS like this. It almost turns it into an android with the stupid cartoony sh*t.

This new iOS sucks. This childish cartonish look sucks... And the Safari still crashes... They could have at least brought back the Street View or its (I believe Apple) alternative. Lucky enough, I still have it in the ipod...

For someone using an iPhone 4, I don't know if I like it or not. I probably should get a new phone, but it was working fine. Then I upgraded to iOS 7, and it seems slower at times. But the interface is okay.

I've got the 5. It was a marginal upgrade from the 4S and if I still had my 4S (was stolen, was why I upgraded) I wouldn't upgrade to the 5S.

Is anyone else not able to get onto the iTunes app for iPhone? Whenever I try to open it the whole thing just crashes. I'm on an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.

Works fine here. check and see if it's already running and kill it, reboot, and try it again. Also - check the appstore for an update.

Okay I killed it and it still isn't working. And I checked the App Store and there is no update for it I guess I will just have to go directly to apple support

These announcements were far more impressive than last months. The iPad Air looks like a worthy upgrade (One of those unique people that have a 3rd gen iPad) and what came with the new iPad mini was expected.

Yeah. Definitely grabbing the "air" for myself. I've been holding out since the iPad 2 - can't wait for that retina screen. ;) Just hope we can jailbreak it right away.

Was hoping for a little more beef in the MBP update - however, even though I bought the first generation it's not lagging behind in any quarter yet. So I can wait.

...has anyone tried out mavericks yet?

I installed Mavericks yesterday, took a few hours and i'm very impressed with it. As silly as it may sound but I think my MPB (2012 non-retina) actually got faster like everything is opening and closing ALOT faster and i've had no troubles with fullscreen mode in Safari. It's a very solid and stable update and if it cost $20 i'd buy it in a flash. One thing I found strange was that they decided to keep selling the iPad 2 for $400! Definitely should be around $250-300 now that it's 2 years old.

Can anyone explain how to use this wineskin / cider wrappers? I've been dying to play Morrowind on my Air without using Bootcamp and I'm having a tough time figuring it out
