No copy and past mate, every thing else is just like it is offline. Jailbreak it! This is a great website for Ipod Touches: ipodtouchfans.com

Question: Are the Apple Computers really that better than PCs for video/audio/image editing and for modelling? They told me so.

If the answer for that question is true, I'm gonna buy a MacBook or and iMac for those tasks. I might get that 8-core beast to substitute my PC tounge.gif

Who are they?

The only difference between macs and "PC's" is the software they run. Most professionals in the fields that you mention do use macs, because the software that has been designed for them is extremely powerful while maintaining a great work flow and ease of use. PC's can do anything that macs can do and vice versa, it's all a matter of how they do it. I'm going to go ahead and venture that macs are better at these things, just based on the percentage of professionals that use them.

not exactly true, the mac processors are clocked much faster at running multimedia programs such as photoshop, final cut, etc. additionally the UNIX kernel and DOS kernel for the different OS's is completely different. but yes a PC can do the same things a mac can do and vice versa... for the most part.

btw my setup

15in MBPro @ 2.4 Ghz core duo 2

4 gigs of DDR2 SDRAM

Santa Rosa Chip set

Hmmm, cool. So I might go ahead and buy the MacBook biggrin.gif I mean, I'll mostly be using photoshop, final cut and, say, audacity(or a stronger software), and as you say, it can run them faster. Thanks!

EDIT: They? They is a group of people that want to make a studio for movie and audio stuff.

final cut studio won't run on a macbook. final cut express can.

if you want to run final cut studio you need dedicated graphics (mbp, imac, mp)

I've been a mozilla user since long before firefox, but when the new safari came out I switched to it that since firefox 2 is a sluggish memory hog under OS X (and every other OS). I just installed the new FF3 beta and it is so blisteringly fast that it scares me a little, and the interface is sexy as hell. It feels damn good to be back in the mozilla camp, and I can't wait for a final release.

I love my iPod, I have a Classic 80Gb, and I'm using about 3/4 of that for files on my PC that I don't want to lose, but I don't want clogging up my main HDD, and I just put all the GTA:VC and GTAIII Radio Stations onto it too, pure awesomeness for long trips.

Why can't I get Windows working :'(

I always get a disk error, at about page 11 of the boot camp installation guide. This is before I even get the chance to format the partition, therefore this cannot be the problem. I need Word for University.

plz help.

Microsoft makes word for OS X, I know that's not helpful but at least you aren't up sh*t creek until you can figure out the problem.

I just got my hands on a 3rd gen 4gig nano ye, It was working fine till I connected it to my pc (vista). As soon as I connected, it just froze and locked itself, now I've fired up itunes and said I had to reformat it with windows, so I did, then an message comes up saying that the ipod software is corrupt so it suggested downloading a newer software and install it, so I did. Then itunes said to restore the software which I also did... but failed.

Anyone have any idea what I could do, or do I now have an expensive brick?

:edit: tried restore again, and Itunes froze at this screen:

:edit2: Nevermind, it's working now, pressed middle button and menu screen at the same time for 10 seconds and it resetted itself back to the main menu smile.gif

I'm posting this from my new 16GB iPod touch, and I have to say it is possibly the most amazing thing I have ever bought. Although I've never been a fan of Apple on the computer side of things, this has just blown me out of the water, I've just upgraded from an 8 gig nano, which was really cool but this is just something else. Kudos Apple.

Lost-Fender

Last Wednesday, I got my brand new iPod nano. I'm loving this thing so far, though there's an issue which has worried me a bit for some time. I connected my iPod to the computer and suddenly the iPod would not respond and the screen would freeze. After I reset it, it would work just fine. This has happened three times already. I suspect the problem is that I didn't correctly connected the cable. Does this issue damage the iPod?

Yeah I have, also installed the iPhone apps on it...screw paying Apple £12 when the files are already there, just not enabled. But I'm really liking the repository style of Installer, it makes things so much more convenient. Although I guess it would be less useful if you didn't have an available Wi-Fi connection. The only thing I can think of to complain about is that many apps don't support the landscape-mode keyboard, which is so much easier to type with, as well as being able to do it two-thumbed. The keys are way too thin on the upright board.

LAND'S END! MY FRIGGING PUNY 2GIG NANO IS ALREADY FULL?! THAT LITTLE RUNT! >.<

And my mom won't get me a bigger one, so that's something i'll have to wait until i'm old enough to get a job to fix, along with getting a incredibly high end gaming PC, GTA4, a video game collection that would make the AVGN Pround, and about half a fricking' billion other things...

Anyway, if you haven't noticed, i'm P*ssed at my 2gig ipod nano not being able to hold my music collection. if it had been bigger, i wouldn't want to snap the stupid, dimunitive little B*stard in half right now. but i wont, considering that if i did, i would have to wait about a year to get it replaced.

Dude, calm down. Simply start circulating your music collection. Sync certain music for when you're in the mood. Just because your Nano's full it doesn't mean your iTunes is, so carry on uploading/downloading/buying music for it and simply pick and choose what you want. You're not telling me you listen to the same 2 GB of music all the time, you'll favour some artists over others.

rant 1. Why is there no 64gig or 128gig touch yet?! GODDAMIT, the most powerful pod of the pack and it's one of the most limited by it's memory dammit. I WANT ONE NOW APPLE!

rant 2. WHY THE F*CK DON'T YOU SUPPORT MALTA DAMMIT? as if we're going to pay with buckets of salt. Why doesn't itunes have worldwide support?!

High capacity SSD = Expensive. It would be great, but it's not something we'll be seeing this year.

Is there any option for itunes to like "refresh" it's library? for some reason it only recognizes 6.94 GB out of my 45gig library:

http://www.isarapix.org/pix14/1209248125.png

Bit late, but I would try in iTunes to Ctrl-O your Music folder apart from what's in your "iTunes Library" folder already. So shift click the others or whatever.

snail.
