Okay.. now it's snowing. And this snow is nothing like the little white fluffies.. this snow actually falls Los Santos looks beautiful

Oh, and some random guy gave me 1 billions $ as soon as I logged in, as if I wasn't worried about the 200 mill I already got yesterday, oh well, time to go christmas shopping I guess.

All the money in GTA Online can't buy us snow. Only Rockstar can give us that.

 

 

Wow, my Viper doesn't handle worth a sh*t now! Good job on this Rockstar. Did something right finally. Amazing how the underpasses are lightly dusted, and even the railings and street lights and logs and all have snow on top of them. I wonder how they managed this? I at first thought it was just a simple, "replace all textures with white," but it's far more than just that.

No, it's certainly not texturing. I imagine it's done simular to rain...you know when it rains and the floor becomes wet. If you notice, there's no build up of snow on anything...it's all just flat and I imagine it's some sort of masking and what you're really seeing is the wet suface but they changed the properties to make it far less transparant etc.

 

I figured that they already had a transparent texture on all the horizontal surfaces for rain effects, and all they had to to was make it a textured white. Probably they discovered it accidentally during development, when they forgot to turn on the alpha layer, and somebody said, "Hey, man, that looks just like snow!!!".

How come some peoples cars are white from all the snow, but there is nothing on my cars, even after lots of driving?

Someone needs to tell the NPC's that its snowing. theyre all walking around in summer gear.

the idea that R* would put snow in there version of L.A. is laughable at best. if you've spent a little time in L.A. you'd be blown away by how much L.S. mirrors that area. yes this game is unrealistic, but putting snow in a region that gets very little snow would be silly.

 

I suggest play The Simpsons Tapped Out if your into being festive.

Im enjoying the snow very much. I need to go on a hunt for Santa tomorrow though. Hopefully he is still flying around, or someone has grabbed a pic of him at least.

This is the best. Rockstar wasn't lying about dangerous driving conditions in Los Santos & Blaine County. My Entity XF takes longer to stop lol & slides a bit around corners.

 

Photography is very nice when it snows, especially at night
