Does anyone know how to combine things now? I tried to put a cooking hob on a small gas bottle last night and it wouldn't let me! Does it have to be a big gas bottle now?

Both still work for me.

 

I think sometimes it glitches out, you might have to do it out of your inventory, or remove it and put it back in.

 

Was just trying to find out how to get a guillie suit and guillie wrap but it looks far too rare to get that netting.

 

So many new crafting options too, arm bans to tell players apart is cool, shame I can't ever find raincoats anymore.

 

Also, tents? Wtfux son?

 

I need some of that sh*t.

 

Also I found a white balaclava. So hopefully there are other colors. Just need a black one, a gasmask and black fatigues now.

I did try multiple ways like you suggested last night but it seemed to not be having any of it. I had a rain coat last night that I ditched for a riders jacket as it's much cooler but it appears they've patched the glitch where you could put items in it once you had placed the coat in your inventory

I know it wasn't letting me combine items when I had an item in my hand as well. But you can for sure attach both canisters to it.

 

Do you know if the gas lamp heats you up? Or the gas cooker?

 

I really need to write down some of the crafting recipies. I guess you can get sticks from bushes now with a machete, would that work with any bladed weapon like the axe?

 

Also I am guessing there is no way to lock vehicles or have a key, right?

 

I threw my lockpick away so I didn't try it on it.

Last time I tried the gas stove didn't warm you up. in actual fact it wouldn't even cook anything for me, I had saved a cooking pot especially but it wouldn't let me put any water or veggies in it. Couldn't even heat up a tin of spaghetti. I need Delia smiths dayz cook book or something.

 

As for car keys I'm not sure at all I haven't even seen a car yet.

As far as the wiki says I think you can only cook meat, or at least that is all it had on the cooking page. No idea why you couldn't cook canned goods and packs of rice.

 

Also apparently you can now saw down the mosin, yet I can't get it to work. I really need to as I want to store it to carry other rifles I find. I don't know if there is a glitch with it? Actually now that I think about it, it might have been because it was sprayed. But I tried it with my recent one and it still didn't work, unless I sprayed that before I tried to cut it, but I don't think so.

 

Also found a longhorn, 7.62 pistol with a scope. Pretty awesome.

What kind of condition was the hacksaw in? It may only work if it's pristine?

You could saw off the Mosin as of a couple of patches ago, I haven't tried in a while but I've never had an issue with it.

 

The lockpick is there to lock and unlock doors, it's their first iteration on barricading. I don't think you can lock or otherwise secure a truck other than hiding it well.

Oh and i found out where i was going wrong with the gas stove, turns out you can't drag the stove onto the bottle you've to drag the bottle onto the stove to combine it!! why i have no idea!!!!

Looks like my public server dude got wiped somehow so no point f*cking with that, got on your server earlier and managed to get a bunch of stuff. I noticed those small wooden log cabins with only one room seem to always spawn a gun in the corner, which is nice. Found 2 lever action rifles, 2 CR527's and 2 Walther P1's, and a shotgun.

 

Defo going to need to get my arse to the army base, hopefully get some tents going. No idea how to get or build them though. It also seems like on your server I don't ever get wet. Which is nice.

 

Just annoying as it was night time through the actual daytime.

Yeah I noticed that when I popped on the other evening it was night it's very strange but until the automatic 4 hour server restart is enabled I'm not sure what I can do about that. From what jelly said it seems like all servers get one restart a week now.

 

Yeah unfortunately I decided to log out where I took that picture witch was a mistake as when I reloaded it was dark and raining so I got drenched. I did wring my clothes out so I reduced them down to damp my back pack and stab vest seemed to dry out properly very quickly but the rest of me is still damp. I think possibly a camp / camp fire maybe the first priority of any survivor now. I can now confirm the gas stove does bugger all to warm you up but thinking about It now I wonder if you can throw your clothes down near it to dry them off quicker?

 

If you do get some tents and stuff going let me know where and we can make some sort of Base camp.

That is weird because last night I spent a LONG TIME in the rain and none of my clothing got wet or damp. I didn't have a raincoat on neither. Usually everything gets wet, maybe it was a glitch?

 

How does the stick gathering work now? Can I go out and whack bushes with a machete or can I use my fire axe?

If you chop down bushes rather than trees, you will get sticks. You can also split a regular wooden log into 5 sticks using an axe.

 

You can still try to look for sticks at the base of trees, I think. It's been a long time since I have tried that. Worth it if you need a splint and you don't have an axe.

 

oyster, gas stove is pretty much useless, make fires instead. A fireplace also warms you and dries out your clothes very, very fast compared to last patch.

Cheers Jelly one question though! I've got some sticks now and a cooking tripod where do i find dry brush wood? Getting geared up nicely now still haven't found a tent yet though Need a good place to make base camp.

 

Also I've just restarted the server and it now appears the day/night/rain cycle is now fixed should be daytime at night for GMT and others!

 

And i found this weird heart teddy bear probably been in for a while but Stanley is staying with me

So i went a little crazy this afternoon but had a blast welcome to Camp Oyster..... i also found an army gasoline canister now just need to find a car....

 

 

I also started growing tomato plants.

 

 

I lost all but 3 of the plants as the supposedly updated growing guides forgot to mention you had to water them

Chopping down trees (not bushes) should give you firewood, but I'm not sure. I have yet to make a fireplace this patch.

 

If you like growing things, keep in mind that you can carve seeds out of fruits to grow effectively infinite fruit. I think you can also get good seeds from rotten fruit.

If you combine paper, books or bandages with sticks that will give you a fireplace kit. You then add more sticks and it should become a fireplace of witch you can burn books paper and sticks.

 

You can get tomato seeds out of tomato holy sh*te. That's good to know as I only had 1 tomato seed left.

f*ck me, looks like attack of the killer tomatoes in there.

 

I think the new update said you could combine like 6 or so stones to your fireplace to make it a furnace/oven.

 

But I managed to make it up to the NE airfield and there was f*ck all in the entire aiport complex, the best gear is left by blown up trucks and APC's and the smaller building on the other side of the runway.

 

Then I made it through a few towns and all the way to the NW airfield. Got pretty pissed off as zombies kept desync'ing and destroying all my clothing with one hit which never happened before, and even managed to make one of my makarovs hit "worn" status, which I have never seen before. It is dumb because I don't give a sh*t how realistic the game is, you ain't going to wear a gun by clawing it. Older guns, whatever, but something like the FNX should never be not pristine, even if run over by a truck.

 

Anyway I had two makarovs and a magazine in each and both ate the whole magazine and disappeared from the inventory.

 

I got kind of pissed off after all that and quit out.

 

If there is going to be a lot of damage done from melee hits to your gear, at least have military and industrial gear be the toughest. I know items can be patched up now but sometimes it is glitchy and often says it gets repaired when it doesn't.

So after 2 hours of trawling through every van spawn that was close i finally found one took me 10 mins to get back to base camp, kinda bummed that you can't use the truck as extended inventory was hoping to move my stuff upto closer where you were. I don't know if you know this but if you press E it will engage quick gear and if you hold down shift it will engage the trucks turbo it didn't appear to have any problem going up hill.

I saw that in the control options, hitting E but it did f*ck all.

 

You will have to teach me how to drive.

 

I will wear a crash helmet, just to be safe.

No worries I will fill her up with petrol (I don't know how to tell how much it has) then I will head upto NW airfield. According to the wiki there should be 15 cars at any one time on the server so we should be able to get you one.

 

And I seem to have the issue of getting stuff damaged to easily my pristine raincoat witch seems to be pretty rare was ruined in an hour today witch sucked all though my weapons and kit is OK. The z's semi to favor hitting you in the top but I did notice that the ones that run and jump were the ones I received most damage from.

Well if you want the 2nd canteen I got you can have it, pretty sure there is another at the airfield. I haven't fully explored it yet.

 

We really need to get looking for a tent, I hear they are rare.

The best place to find a tent without spending too much time searching for it is to look in Tenement Buildings. Dubky is a good location. Here is a tutorial on how to effectively search for tents (video tutorial included):

• Climb to the rooftop of a Tenement Building. Walk to the edge of the roof, and look for tents on the roofs of the buildings surrounding the one you are on. (Tip: decrease your FOV to the lowest amount possible to zoom in and get a better look)
• If there are no Tents on the rooftops, start looking for them through windows, scanning from left to right. If you don't see one, look one story below.
• Once you spot the tent, keep the floor, room and everything regarding to the location of the tent in your mind, before climbing back down to get it.
• Enjoy your reward!

It just so happens that i was pretty damn close to dubky on my spawn in, turns out i visited Novoselky witch is the next town along. Can drive up there and explore but we will need to protect ourselves there will be quite a few Z's if Novoselky was anything to go by. Well I was using my 20liter gasoline canister for water until i filled it up with petrol earlier but wont say no to another flask.

 

I had my vest ruined earlier for no apparent reason just noticed all of a sudden that it was ruined and a good portion of my items init were also ruined but i had a spare thanks to my entire towns worth of loot at my base!

Well we have a server backup and running on a private hive that's password protected. My plan down the line is to whitelist the server and have 10 open slots for randomers and 20 locked slots for whitelisted gtafers. Currently I'm not opening it up yet to randoms as I don't want the password to get out. At the moment it's more of a case of getting the basics down and just messing about and looting as it has been a long time since most of us have played.

I had to ditch that 2nd canteen, it should be somewhere in the barracks north of the fire station. I found a nice AKS-74u and an AK mag next to it, my luck it is for the 47 and not the 74, but I managed to fit the ak in my backpack. took up 4x4 slots. It should take up less if you take the stock off, but oh well.

 

I also dropped one of my derringers, some makarovs and other goodies in the barracks. In a way I would like more players because not having enough spaces to loot all this stuff is heartbreaking.

 

We need some tents ASAP.

 

I have also noticed more sh*t being lost in the floor again, I thought they fixed that a year ago. Same goes with items not showing up in the vicinity when they should.

 

Also, can't wring out clothing while holding something, so that was pissing me off until I realized why.

That's why I have been looting backpacks as they are persistent now and leave them at my Base. I've got a whole towns worth of loot sitting at my Base and it has respawned. Well at least now with more clothes wear and tear due to zombies you now have an excuse to swap out jackets and asuch.

FYI leaving persistence on is going to bug out loot spawns and make it real difficult to find anything at all. It's a sorry state of affairs, but for now it's best not to use it.

 

I suppose since there's so few people using the server it might actually work for some time. In any case, all servers are wiped every Wednesday maintenance cycle anyway.

What do you mean turn persistence off its like Christmas all over again. Andrew sent me this pic last night after I came off it looks brilliant

 

It's only the public hives that get wiped private ones remain the same.

 

From what I can tell it bugs out ones in your local location. Loot spawns that are thurther afield don't witch does make it challenging.

 

I can just wipe the persistence files myself in the control panel is there any word when they are going to fix this it has been a couple of updates now and it's still broken. Perhaps that's why our clothes gets damaged so quickly and it rains and turns night when it shouldn't.

That night time bullsh*t needs to be fixed. I refuse to believe the game is meant to be effected by daylight savings times, it would be f*cking moronic that the only time you could ever play this game in the daytime on a UK server is while I would be at work. Night time is fine, but for like 4 hours real time, it should brighten up after that as there is no need for it any longer. There is a reason why people are awake in the daytime.

 

Anyway if anyone finds a 74 mag, keep it for me.
