Listening to Painful, an album by indie rock/shoegaze outfit Yo La Tengo. I'm not so hot on the genre as a whole and I can be quite fickle but this has passed my test. I'm a big fan of Guided By Voices, so this feels like a side step into slightly fuzzier, lengthier territory.

I discovered this album trawling long defunct blogs dedicated to the vintage obscura, though the relatively quick results provided by YouTube might suggest otherwise. Yes, this is a shameless rip-off of Prince's very own Revolution era output, and it was even released on the man's own Paisley Park record label so there's nothing to say it wasn't held in high regard. It may not be as catchy or as captivating, but who doesn't wish there was more 1980s Prince material lurking?

I'm listening to my P.O.D. greatest hits CD that is 10yrs old now. I also have a greatest hits CD for Godsmack as well that I will be listening to soon. I also realised that I don't have many CD's at all. I mostly stream music although there are several albums that I want a physical copy of.
