Mind blowing.. 90's rock music was amazing.

So not only did Death From Above drop the 1979 from their name back in June, but they also released a new album this week seemingly out of nowhere. I haven't listened to the full thing yet but from the singles I've heard, it sounds like they've picked up a harder rock influence with some slight glam thrown in to pop it up and entice new listeners. It's a shame really because interested peaked when they reformed a few years ago. The result of that, their album The Physical World, wasn't fantastic in my opinion but for existing fans it was a welcome addition to their discography. If they had released this new album, Outrage Is Now instead, I feel like they'd been in a stronger position.

Love this guy. Down, dirty and gritty. Just the way I like my blues.
the last two songs I've listened to.
I found out yesterday that Paul Simon released an album last year called Stranger To Stranger and that it features custom made instruments from engineer and music theorist Harry Partsch. I'm all over anything that takes advantage of custom instruments, and I've always liked Paul Simon so I decided to give it a try. Honestly, I think this is his strongest work since Graceland. There's just something about Simon's surreal lyrics that I find endearing. At this point in his career (and even his life) you'd have thought this would be a little stuffy but it's such a fresh take on his signature sound it's like rediscovering him all over again. You could tell that he had some fun on this album.
BoJack Horseman has an amazing soundtrack but this one..god, where to begin. It's savage.
