Is the $2,147,483,647 bug gone?

Question

AirFreshner

Sorry if I'm late but couldn't find the answer. I'm getting dangerously close to that amount (thanks to WIZ!) and I don't know if I should sell ALL my stocks and try and go above 2,147,483,647? Or should I keep some money invested and just sell what I need to spend (afraid WIZ might take a plunge, because it often does)? Was the bug fixed?

Thanks!

Why does it matter? Lol, you won't run out of money ever. Also this is posted in the wrong section, try GTA V section under the Gameplay, Online, Mission Help, etc, OR simply in the GAMEPLAY area of the forum.

To answer your question, I think it has been fixed. If you get there, and "go beyond it" the money will just stay the same amount, or won't keep getting more, and it won't go into negative numbers. At least that is what I been hearing.

Thanks. It doesn't matter how much money I got because it's already too much... I just don't want to end up in the negative if I reach 2,147,483,647 by mistake... I might as well just test this with multiple saves

Yeah, no problem. I am happy with the 844 million with Trevor and 927 million with Michael and 991 million with Franklin, good enough lol

It's not a glitch, bro, no way you can have infinite moneys.

The infinite exists only in math, not in computers, 2147483647 is the highest number computer knows.

They're using an int variable for the moneys.

N3xus I don't want infinite money. But I don't want to go into negatives either. I read somewhere that this was fixed, so I was just asking for confirmation.

It is NOT a glitch-- it is a 32bit limit (it is exactly $2^31 minus $1)

If the money is in one stock then don't EVER sell it all at one time.... you can sell some at one time just don't ever sell more then will take you above the limit and if you ever do on accident.. DO NOT SAVE.

You can park money in other stocks if you want just don't ever take your cash on hand over the limit.

I honestly don't know why you are still investing--- you will never spend all that money--- I have between 1.6 and 1.8 billion on each of my characters-- I've bought pretty much everything-- Michael is the only one of my characters really gaining money because I bought the golf course and movie theatres with him and they are the only ones throwing off decent money.

Thanks Spuds725. Actually I sold everything with all 3 characters yesterday just to test it. I found out that even if your stocks are worth more than the limit, the amount tops at that maximum (good news is it doesn't go into negatives!). However you STILL sell everything you have, which means that you ultimately lose money (for example if you have 5 billions worth of stocks, you will get 2.1 billions, which means you lose 2.9 billions worth of stock; and you can't even sell only 2.1 and keep 2.9 in stocks).

It's weird I know, but that's my result. My example might not make sense but keep in mind I didn't bother much with this. All I cared about was getting my money. Like you guys said, it's such a big amount that you end up not knowing what to do with it.

Right! Since October within the first week, I maybe used 3-4 million dollars per character at the extreme max. This is ALSO AFTER destroying over 15-20 vehicles to make room for others I wanted more. And those vehicles were fully modded. Did I waste cash? Yeah. Do I care and am in danger of running out? No.

Like I said above my lowest amount is for Trevor, with 844 million. It won't ever run out. I own all the cars I can, fully modded. I have 15 properties (oh and properties bring in a good 270,800 dollars for me each week - in game time), I bought all the boats, planes, helicopters, etc. And STILL 844 million to 991 million. No way does anybody need so much money inside this game, you could prob do what I did running on 50 million, let alone 844 million as my lowest lol

if your stock is over that amount, it just gives you the 2.1 billion, but keeps the rest in that stock. and you can "sell all" again to get the rest. the only thing you need to worry about is when you buy stock, and you buy too much, it deletes what you had in there previously, and what you tried to put in.
