[SA]Editing Vehicle Frequency

Been looking over the net and couldn't find how to do so,that's why I am asking here.

I want to know if its possible to edit the frequency of cars spawning on the roads,for instance I want to make Police cruisers spawn less often on the roads.

Is there such thing that defines the frequency of vehicle spawning?

yes in popcycle.dat in your data folder.

and you have to decrease the "COPS" number in each section.

like:

and what about frequency of other vehicles in the street,for example I want to make cars like the Picador less frequent,is there any way to control that?

 

Edit : Just like the Euros,it spawns very rarely,what makes it spawn in that frequency?

i dont think that you can change the spawn value of a SPECIAL car(like euros). but you can increase its group(group name adn cars located in cargp.dat) .for example,i want more "primo"s. i increase the number of his group in popcycle.here an example line of cargp:

taxi, cabbie, bfinject, faggio, glendale, oceanic, mesa, bmx, mtbike, mrwhoop, washing, previon, pcj600, cadrona, sunrise, yosemite, bravura, primo    	# POPCYCLE_GROUP_BEACHFOLK

There's nothing special about the Euros. It will spawn fairly regularly if the order or number of vehicles on the appropriate cargrp lines are changed so the Euros, or Phoenix for that matter, isn't listed beyond the maximum vehicle count per group - which is 23.

 

You should be able to gain indirect control of the spawn frequency of particular vehicles by adding those vehicles to more or fewer car groups in cargrp.dat, and then balancing the spawn frequency of the ped groups that drive the vehicles in popcycle.dat.

 

The zone types identified in popcycle.dat are applied to the zones during the early missions by main.scm, The zones don't change type as the game progresses. One way to identify or alter the type of each zone is to use the zone editor tool included with the Savegame Editor v3.x.

Added for clarification: Each of 12 lines shown in the business popcycle above controls the spawn rate for a 2 hour period. Alihunter's example would only reduce the cops that spawn from midnight until 2:00, and then only when CJ is located in a Business typed zone on a weekday.

Also,instead of creating another topic,I wanted to ask if its possible to change the kind of engine sound the car uses?

,for example make the Hustler use the sound that the Hermes and Broadway use.

yes,by changing bank sounds in genrl file via a tool.

but,it has too many banks and i don't know what number of hustler sound.but if you find that(number of "hustler"sound bank),tell me to send that mod to you!

(maybe there are other ways i don't know,and maybe they are even better! if any body know other way,tell him!)

It shouldn't take you too long to figure out how to use it. :)
