GTA San Andreas Shenmue "port"?

I had a Sega Dreamcast years ago and I became a huge fan of shenmue, it's a great game with a lot of possibilities, a great storyline, many interactions, animals, charismatic characters, and the martial arts at it's best.. So why not make a Shenmue port to pc using GTA San Andreas system?

I love this game and I love San Andreas too xD But I'm just giving an idea.. Imagine Millions of shenmue fans like me that finally can have shenmue on PC without emulators and with other possibilities in gameplay..

Here it's a list of features of Shenmue:

Shenmue has animals and GTA SA hasn't, but it's possible to make animals in GTA SA, there are a lot of animals mods for GTA SA view
so create a cat mod for GTA SA engine it's not hard.

GTA SA has CJ as player, with many clothes haircuts and some other stuff, Shenmue has Ryo Hazuki with only an outfit,
so it's easy to convert to GTA, if the guy who makes it is good at moddeling, but there is already a Ryo Hazuki player model to GTA SA here:

We can also include these clothes as a possible outfit to wear view

The cutscenes can be made, but if it is not possible to make Shenmue cutscenes to GTA SA, it's posible to convert the audio and create Shenmue missions with that audio from original game, so I think it's a good idea, waiting to see any reply..

Digas(me): Retextured some things (Shenmue Tomato store, HD Shenmue Loadscreens, Shenmue phone texture, clothes,HUD retexture, GTA SA minimap radar,Shenmue photos at CJ's house,some peds retexture, etc..) and edited GTA SA Map (chinese gate at the entrance of Grove Street).

iTakumi: Replaced all GTA SA trees with japanese style trees like Sakura Trees (herry blossom) and even other trees.

Keizh: Rigged some Shenmue and Shenmue II characters, including Ryo Hazuki ped and Lan Di, Shenmue Sword and Sega All Stars Racing Ryo's Motorbike.

Lass2248: Made some scripts (Ine-San near Sweet's House)

ZAZ: Fixed some script by LASS2248 (Ine-San script) and make some new scripts (Shenmue Hang-On minigame, enemies wave spawn like Shenmue).

Jake.DK: Made the LS Chinese Cop.

Fastman92: Made analog Clock mod and SpeedoSA mod.

In45do: Giving permission for his "The Lost Cruise" mod.

Axel Elizondo(owner of this SITE) Ryo Hazuki player model (working fat,skinny and muscle, including cutscenes)

TheThingy: Beta Testing (to make sure this mod will work on all PC's)

 

NOTE:

All of the mods that were made by for example: fastman92,and in45do, and some others members that were not on this team at first, we have permission to use them on this total conversion (permission gave by the authors).

 

So if you are thinking of leaving a comment saying "You are using other modders work on this total conversion without permission" or things like that, please, first make sure you are informed about the situation.. And now this post is posted on the right place..

By the way, do you know 50cent bulletproof game? Eminem made Detective McVicar in that game, can you help me and doing a ped mod for san andreas with McVicar? or just send me the textures xD AND Can you convert that 3 Ryo outfits you've created, to replace CJ clothes on San Andreas? and Ryo head too? I can help doing some more clothes textures if you want, because i don't know how to do moddeling, just textures, but we can start a Shenmue mod for GTA San Andreas if you want, or if not, just do these files.. let me now xD BTW your models and textures are great.. See Ryo with new clothes and head from Sega All Stars makes me feel like it's finally Shenmue 3

Why can't it work? It needs something to work properly with GTA San Andreas? I know some people use 3dmaxs or something like that to rigg models to GTA San Andreas.. CJ Model is complicated to rig. It uses separated parts with different forms (skinny, muscle, normal).

 

If you wanna make a Shenmue Mod, I don't understand why should we need hairstyles or clothing. The only thing we need is Ryo and other characters.

 

And about the woking mods. Just take a look at the game and look for player modifications in, for example, Youtube and look if anybody has swaped characters from other games. For example, you can put Ryo in GTA San Andreas, Skyrim. RE4 and some other games. Not all videogames let you mod characters like this.

So my my plan is to use this models to make Ryo Character, so step one is already made.. (We have the Ryo Models, and Lan Di) now we just need some other characters, guys who know how to make script mods, shenmue dialogue audio to put in San Andreas, and a lot of other thinhgs i know xD But I'm glad, your models are great.

I know Cj models it's hard it has different models for hands, haircuts, clothes, etc. And you're right, we only need Ryo.. I know what you mean about swap characters, i saw Claude from gta III on residelt evil a week ago. There must be a way to make Ryo motorcycle work.

You can try to use col file editor tool, or you can talk with some moddelers from gtagarage.. example idra_p, he is a great moddeler..

I already have some Ryo Hazuki player models, and shenmue style katana sword, and forklift.. I just need help to convert shenmue map, and help with scripting and some other things like peds and that kind of thing..

I wish I could help with scripting, but, I don't know scripting. But if you ever need help beta testing I could help. Although, I've never beta tested before either lol I hope you get to make your Shenmue mod, Digas. Ok, I know this is improper, but, are you going to add a Hot Coffee scene with Nozomi? It could be a Hot Tea scene. j/k And maybe there could be a way to port the Arcades, like Space Harrier into GTA? I wish you luck, Digas. Maybe finally we will get to fight Lan Di "When the snow turns to rain."

Maybe you can also add snowy weather into your mod. And if you collect all the packages you can unlock a mini boss mode where you fight Shenmue bosses and their goons in waves.

thethingy yes make snowy weather its easy, there are some mods that replace rain with snow. that package idea seems good, secret things to find i will try, and about hot cofee xD nozomi is hot haha but if i make a hot cofee to this mod i do not want it to be easily found. the player will need to find some thíngs first to unlock it xD and WELCOME to the team you can do beta testing.

Maybe you can add Shenmue music on the Dance Floors when you take Nozomi dancing. And for the health bar-Maybe you can make it like in Shenmue during the battle scenes, but the radar will be in the way. And imagine if you can use the mod where you switch between players. Play as Ryo, Nozomi, & maybe GuiZhang or Joy?

Well I've talked to some people on shenmuedojo, and one of them told me that since shenmue map is made in separated parts it will take too much time to convert to gta san andreas so my plan is to convert only the most important and iconic buildings from shenmue saga, and put them on strategic places on gta sa map..So it will be a kind of "Shenmue 3", imagine a chinese house on the top of Mount Chiliad, and you go there to ask for answers to Lan Di.. So my plan FOR NOW, it's convert some buildings and then retexture the whole San Andreas map (was made before with SRT3 mod to retexture whole map) but this time with Shenmue textures to give San Andreas a Chinese/japonese look.. I can also retexture some clubs on San Andreas with YOU ARCADE textures from shenmue.. it's a lot easier than a total map replacement.. This way I can choose to leave GTA SA missions or to make Shenmue style missions, I think that this idea is cool.. Make Shenmue 3 on my own way on GTA SA Engine..

I've changed plans, I will try to make a possible Shenmue 3 with a cool story, cool buildings and new things like animals (done before, so it's easy, I just need to ask for permission to the creators) and other cool mods that can make GTA SA look more like Shenmue.

Im happy you agree with this.. I'm making shenmue loadscreens then I will upload them and leave the link here.. I'm trying to find a way to extract shenmue textures from the original files, and I need someone to convert the Hazuki residence and some buildings (i think it will be easy to a moddeler) I will replace the loadscreen sound with Shenmue start menu sound too.. When it's done I'll leave a link here... I would like to make Ryo with different haircuts clothes and muscle, etc, but replacing CJ models it's harder because it has many different parts, but I will see if I can find a moddeler that would like to help doing this.. if you can help me find one I will be very graceful too xD I will see if I can finish the loadscreens and loadscreen music this week..
