Omg just got online and someone gifted me 5 bucks! So I'll admit that I spent 1 dollar on a sprunk soda but the other 4 I reported. Submitted my ticket and see what R* has to say about this ughhhhh just hope I can keep playing and see what new vehicles they take from us and what new restrictions and nerfs they made

Common sense, if someone just gave you $250 Mil in one shot, you know they cheated to get it. So if you use it, guess what? Accessory to the crime.)

 

12. violate any terms, policies, licenses, or code of conduct for any online features of the Software;

(by doing either or, you've violated the ToS, as in, you're not playing the game in the way that R* envisioned it be played, and hence you can and will be disciplined for it if you choose to continue to play it.)

I have studied law, and in no way can you apprehend and prosecute a innocent bystander who was caught up in the crime. You could be the most legit person in the world, and suddenly someone gives you 12mil, feeling frustrated, you'd take the money. Same as in real life, if a starving peasant was given good by a thief, the peasant would take it, because goddamn, they're deprived. You're also implying that when the yakuza helped out the victims of that earthquake, handing out food and blankets, the people that were given it, couldn't have used it, since it was earned through stealing and crime, basically, you're implying that when a bad person does a good deed, the sufferer gets the rap.

If R*'s plan all along was to hand out 10 month bans for minor offences (such as motorcycle money glitch) they DEFINITELY should have notated that somewhere

1) A stolen watch doesn't need to have a victim. It could have been stolen in a heist (the irony) where no one is harmed. Regardless of the fact it was not given nor received under proper conditions. The money is not given nor received under proper conditions in GTAO and hence it's a violation on both parties if the recipient doesn't report it.

 

NOTE: AGAIN- the fact that R* never made the memo or suggestion for such things to be reported is the problem here, people can't do what they didn't know to do.

 

2) Hacked money does not come out of thin air. It's a viable, profitable asset for Rockstar (hence why...you know...they sell it?), so the over abundance of it is a big deal to them. If it's not to you then oh well...this isn't your game, it's theirs. Cash in GTAO is not cash in GTAV. Cash in GTAO is literally cash.

 

I certainly don't see any flawed logic on my behalf, and in Vooodu's point, I did kind of agree with the fact that getting penalized for receiving a deposit is kind of sketchy in that R* didn't address what to do if the situation arises, or did that fly over your head?

That's your take on it and it was obvious that all the people caught would start using this line. Like anyone caught doing something they shouldn't, the plea's of innocence start flowing. How many of these people that received money against their will posted on this forum about how upset they were ? How many threads did you see 'I've been given money against my will and it's destroyed my game' ? I saw one which I posted weeks ago when it happened to me and I think I've probably seen one more simular thread.

 

All the other threads have been 'will one of you nice hackers please give me some money', 'how do I join a $ lobby', 'am I the only one that can't find one of these generous beings', 'please, I will pay real cash for gta$' etc etc etc, to the point of sorrow for many of us...thread after thread after thread and the mods seemed to just let them keep coming and everytime someone complained, their thread got locked it was a total f*cking misery to read this forum only two nights ago.

 

And then came all the 'I've been gifted' threads, 'I'm so much richer than yow', 'hackers are wonderful' etc etc and all while all of this was happening, these brainless idiots were giving their psn's out...nothing will ever happen to me they said and now all of a sudden....it was against their f*cking will. Bullsh*t mate.

 

Shall I tell you how easy it is to catch these people...well posting your psn whilst asking for hacked money...well, that wasn't a hard guy to find was it....that's a ban for him. Standing in the middle of free roam asking, discussing and participating in hacked money...well there's another couple banned. The rest is easy using an algorithm, this person has 200 billion, did he suddenly become ingame friends with the person that gave him the money(yes), right that's him and the guy that gifted him banned. This person had 100 million, did he spend it, yes he's bought 55 adders so far, right he's trying to get rid of it, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt leave him alone. This guy has 430 million, yes this guy became friends with 3 people we've already banned prior to his winfall and has since bought every vehicle in the game...right throw him in and so it goes on.

 

Now imagine a piece of software that can analyse these few variables plus tens of millions more every second. It's got nothing to do with 'reporting your gifted money to R*', it has everything to do with your ingame actions...your online footprint and more.

Have to agree here. Great points. I was banned for being gifted 1.9 billion and honestly I thought I hit the lottery! Then I was in the cheaters pool, yesterday, for 10yy10MMand00DD...unreal. I thought my 4 week badsport was rough. So I decided to take the game back to Gamestop for some cash and they told me they were only paying 9 dollars so I decided to keep it and actually I realized I am up for a new Xbox Live renewal so I decided to cancel the account and make a new one and now I'm back in regular games as a level 0. The thing is though, I have been doing missions and I made about 100k last night just from busting tail. So I bought me some guns.

 

Then I actually am close to getting a garage, it's so funny because I go up to level 120+s and just absolutely trash them and they're thinking I'm gonna suck, little do they know I was a level 265 with over 5 billion at one time. Mostly gifted. I love the game and I'm not gonna give it back for 9 dollars. I realize what I did was right and if Rockstar has a problem with it they should ban me like they did but I don't care it's not their fault. I did what I thought was right for my character and they created a big time money system so I felt like I want ed to secure my character's financial future. Anyway, this forum has been a great help in getting me money, so many great posters have linked up with me and given me millions and billions. Kudas, if we can get around this new system, maybe we can share some money again soon.

Interesting way to look at it. I personally was very happy to get money from my friends on GTAforums, and I don't blame anyone unlike you. I don't need to point a finger at someone to feel better. It was my decision and I respect it. I made the best choice for my character's financial future.

 

Rockstar was lazy and they got caught 'open', as they say in the hood, and we got them good. I was able to navigate around their socialistic system and rise in ranks and money by using smarts, connections, and resources. I don't regret it for a second and I would do it all over again!

Well said Mart. At 1am today, someone (won't say here), gifted me 107 mill, then suddenly left the session. I refuse to bank or spend a dime of it. It's a grind, but I enjoy playing the game the way it was intended. Hell, the most money I've had at one time was about 700k, and that's including the stimulus.

I'll say it again, it's YOUR obligation to report it, just like in real life, when you see something that you know is out of the ordinary. Doesn't matter how difficult it is to report, it's still on you. You don't want to a "snitch", again, your choice, better be willing to suffer for it. What's worse, taking 5 minutes to submit a report to clear your name, or several months in a cheater's pool you don't feel you should be in?

I agree with your sentiment...but...I have a support ticket I put in October 20th that's still open...I STILL get form letter responses asking me the same damned thing over and over again. And that was 111 Ranks ago.

 

Now, how long am I going to have to wait for them to address this issue? Especially by their own admission they have a bot that uses some "metric" to determine who is a cheater or not? And if I'm classed as a cheater...and have things reset because of their lackadaisical attitude when it comes actually addressing broken issues in their game...I will be highly pissed. HIGHLY. And rightfully so...no matter whether their EULA states that I have no actual intellectual rights to their property.

 

Better yet...they should've slapped, BETA on the end of their Online experience...and I wouldn't have invested so much time in cultivating my character and bothering with leveling up. I would've dicked around in Free Roam more since it would have meant nothing in a game where everything is temporary.

 

 

Been playing in public lobbies since day 1 and never seen anyone handing out money.

I'm sorry, but it happens...I got into a debate with someone about this in another thread...he didn't believe it happened...until he saw it happen to his friend in a lobby...to which I received a personal message on this forum that he understood that these events can be random.

 

I do say that, a lot of people on here feigning innocence after begging for money....did go looking for trouble. But just because you haven't experienced it or seen it...doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That is thinking that is way too insular.

 

But, this morning at 5am I was "gifted" (or cursed, choose which word you like) with 200 million. I wasn't looking for the money...I was hitting Armored Trucks that were spawning back to back enjoying myself and my ill gotten gains...and when I saw it pop on my screen...I freaked out cause I thought it was 2 billion and thought my Social Club page would be f*cked up. And I was super pissed, cause I'm always on my Social Club checking my stats.

 

I took the pictures of the infraction, sent them in with a firm but not aggressive letter to them. And now I'll wait. And if it's anything like my other OPEN ticket? I will be waiting A LONG time.

 

Interesting viewpoint i think the problem with this whole situation is that rockstar is focused on selling cash cards and they failed really hardcore at doing that.

thus the stock has not been rising because earnings are flat in real life. its all about the almighty dollar folks. this all comes back to the rockstar brand and making sure they sell cash cards to bankroll the next game. i believe that they are gonna ban everyone who has money and then they will ban anyone who interferes with them earning stock revenue.

 

i wouldnt be surprised if you saw a 25 percent ban on total population if that means a 50 percent bump in microtransactions and trust me they will stop at nothing to make more cash cards available. i wouldnt be shocked if they made a new gta v for next gen that requires some sort of money cash cards to even play the game kind of not unlike what forza 5 is on xbox one, you almost need to buy the money or else you are driving a piece of crap car/renting with no rewards. look folks, i wouldnt be surprised if the new gta v online is full of cash cards so dont be shocked when i told you this way earlier.

That's your take on it and it was obvious that all the people caught would start using this line. Like anyone caught doing something they shouldn't, the plea's of innocence start flowing. How many of these people that received money against their will posted on this forum about how upset they were ? How many threads did you see 'I've been given money against my will and it's destroyed my game' ? I saw one which I posted weeks ago when it happened to me and I think I've probably seen one more simular thread.

 

All the other threads have been 'will one of you nice hackers please give me some money', 'how do I join a $ lobby', 'am I the only one that can't find one of these generous beings', 'please, I will pay real cash for gta$' etc etc etc, to the point of sorrow for many of us...thread after thread after thread and the mods seemed to just let them keep coming and everytime someone complained, their thread got locked it was a total f*cking misery to read this forum only two nights ago.

 

And then came all the 'I've been gifted' threads, 'I'm so much richer than yow', 'hackers are wonderful' etc etc and all while all of this was happening, these brainless idiots were giving their psn's out...nothing will ever happen to me they said and now all of a sudden....it was against their f*cking will. Bullsh*t mate.

 

Shall I tell you how easy it is to catch these people...well posting your psn whilst asking for hacked money...well, that wasn't a hard guy to find was it....that's a ban for him. Standing in the middle of free roam asking, discussing and participating in hacked money...well there's another couple banned. The rest is easy using an algorithm, this person has 200 billion, did he suddenly become ingame friends with the person that gave him the money(yes), right that's him and the guy that gifted him banned. This person had 100 million, did he spend it, yes he's bought 55 adders so far, right he's trying to get rid of it, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt leave him alone. This guy has 430 million, yes this guy became friends with 3 people we've already banned prior to his winfall and has since bought every vehicle in the game...right throw him in and so it goes on.

 

Now imagine a piece of software that can analyse these few variables plus tens of millions more every second. It's got nothing to do with 'reporting your gifted money to R*', it has everything to do with your ingame actions...your online footprint and more.

 

Interesting way to look at it. I personally was very happy to get money from my friends on GTAforums, and I don't blame anyone unlike you. I don't need to point a finger at someone to feel better. It was my decision and I respect it. I made the best choice for my character's financial future.

The only tragedy here is folks who honestly, truly were gifted the money and were unaware it was coming. Given the number of "give me free money" threads on this forum, I have to say the number of people that happened to vs. the number who said it happened so they don't look guilty is not as high as some claim. If they submitted a claim to R* and still got tossed in the pool, then yes, that indeed sucks rhinoceros dong. The ones who took the money and ran, I have no sympathy for. Ignorance of the rules does not indemnify you, people need to learn to open their eyes and pay more attention to what's going on around them.
