Matrelith
With the lantern being referenced so many times throughout the seasons, it was only a matter of time before it finally fell. That last scene gave me chills. Chuck lost everything he ever cared for: his wife, his job and (to a lesser extent) his family. I knew he was messed up, but I didn't expect him to actually commit suicide. I had expected something akin to an accident with him leaving the gas on and bumping over the lantern. Chilling stuff. Michael McKean definitely deserves an Emmy nomination for his performance this season. Everything from Chicanery up to Lantern was amazing. Glad to see the car crash didn't break the Kim/Jimmy relationship. If anything this episode proved their relationship is stronger than ever (he even told her about conning Irene and she didn't seem to mind). Her being around during Breaking Bad is becoming more and more likely. Also major props to Howard, who became the MVP in disguise this season. His final move to pin down Chuck was brilliant. Both knew the company wouldn't be able to pay off Chuck, but by paying out of his own pocket Howard took away any leverage Chuck had. f*cking genius. Also shoutout to Nacho. Whilst not appearing for the first part of the season, the second part more than made up for it. Nice to see his plan is coming together, and it seems Gus knows what's up. Alas, now we wait another year for the next season.
Jabalous
What a great show. I cannot get enough of it similar to how I was completely hooked up by Breaking Bad. It's well-done mixture of drama, comedy, action and crime, all in one show. Hoping for a new season next year. Arnold165
Arnold165
Better Call Saul is sooo good! Love this show! The creators are very good! I also loved Breaking Bad. I really loved the Season 3 Finale! I feel bad for Jimmy because he's getting very close to being Saul but also feel bad about Chuck (even though he is an a-hole to his brother) and how Jimmy is going to react to it. He's got a lot of his plate since Kim had a car accident and he's not a lawyer for a year. Looking forward to Season 4 to see what happens to Jimmy but also to Hector. Is this the stroke that will put him in a wheelchair?

Matrelith
Are those including the Netflix ratings? The show is insanely popular on Netflix, seeing as that's the only way people outside of the US can watch it. Even with bad ratings on AMC it's still highly succesful. Alas, now we wait another year for the next season. Spoilers ahead. At least a new season of Narcos is out soon and also suits (which is terrible by this point but im hooked.) I agree, Michael Mckean was so god damn good in this season, he's so true to character and so believable. I'm glad his storyline winded up, he was such an antagonizing asshole with nothing to live for, he was really just making other people's lives hard because his wasn't going the way he wanted, and he didn't really serve a purpose for the show anymore. I bet it'll hurt Jimmy when he finds out and remembers the last words Chuck said to him. He's had a hard life before and after becoming Saul, though not helped by his choices. I totally agree, Howard is such a stand up character, the actor does a perfect job portraying him too. He hasn't really set a foot wrong, minus throwing Kim in doc review, but I imagine he was sending a message, and has tried to do what's best for everyone the entire show. I hate that he has been screwed by 3 of the main characters for their own personal gain despite being nothing but honest and straight with everybody. Saggy
I wish some of the scenes with Mike weren't so pointless/unrealistic... Why did he sit there and power the radio off the GPS tracker? To hear feedback when it engaged, to run the battery out, just so Vince Gilligan could make a stupid ass dramatic scenelet? Shooting the shoe full of cocaine... Just pure stupidity. The show could have done itself a favor not taking 3 seasons to get started. QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration! darthYENIK
Doing a watch through of the series. I know I’m repeating myself, but I love seeing Howard Hamlin through the lens of what we know about him and about Chuck.
darthYENIK
New season starts tonight. I just watched the last season’s finale again. Seeing Mike “break bad” is one of the great character turns of this franchise. And WE ALL KNEW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! When he kills Werner, it’s not his first kill, it’s his first time killing someone innocent for the purpose of keeping his criminal boss’ enterprise safe. It’s a pivotal moment. He’s not the same man at the end of the episode as he was in the beginning. That man is gone. I just can’t wrap my head around how well it was done. We know Mike becomes the Mike we know from Breaking Bad, we know he couldn’t possibly always be a hired killer. But the way they did it, the way they put him in that position and he did what he did in that moment, it’s genius. Jumping into the new season premiere now. BUT THE BENZ
eyes low....really low, due to fear of being spoiled, but not much longer...tonight I get to see it. REALLY excited about it I gotta say. The s5 teaser "welcome to my world..." was SOOOOO good. gat-damn can't wait! I don't want to read too much background stuff about the show, the bits that are out there at least, but I suspect this will be the LAST season?! I feared for nacho's life since season 2, I have awaited his death/departure whatever for so long I guess. that breaking bad scene, I think saul's first episode on the show actually, crying on his bad knees yelling "...it was IGNACIO..." that line, in retrospective made me think nacho will bite the dust, or hit the road at some point. still hoping to be surprised when "it" happens even though I fully expect it. well hopefully he gets away, I root for him! Cordohen
Well... this season was worth the 2 year wait. And it's not over yet. 5x06 was brilliant, and that ending scene... Kim is the most surprising character of this show imo, I could've not foresee this for her at all back in season 1 or 2. Also poor Howard, Jimmy got all the reasons to be pissed at him but still. ^^ The acting, the writing, the direction... everything is perfect about this show. I love it so much. It's even better than Breaking Bad in some ways. KADENZA

I'd agree with you but it makes me wonder if it would feel the same without knowing the events/characters of BB. I mean, the reason we're excited about some of the characters (in spite of their limited screen time) is because we liked them in BB. I'm not sure if these same characters would have as much of an impact if BCS was a standalone series. Although, Jimmy/Saul, on his own, can carry the entire series. As a prequel though, it blows every other prequel out of the water. KADENZA and GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

GAUNTLET HELLFIRE
F*cking loved Kim tonight. I'm going to be really upset if she doesn't survive the series even though I don't really expect her too. Thee Gee Tee Ayy King
Great season so far! Really loving how it's all coming full circle with Breaking Bad. Lalo is a great character and a different breed of Salamanca! I'm wondering what will happen that makes Saul so damn scared of him and Nacho. Remember that scene in BB when Walt and Jessie had him tied up in the desert with masks on? Saul was scared that it was Nacho and Lalo for some reason. Also, Lalo mentioned that Tuco is getting out of prison soon to run things, so I'm thinking we are close to the BB timeline now. Also, can anyone confirm if in BB Jessie actually kills Lalo during the episode where Gus poisons most of the cartel? I believe he Jesse gets in a shootout with Lalo and another cartel member. Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents To answer your question: Spoiler The man Jesse kills in "Salud" is Joaquin Salamanca, the grandson of Hector Salamanca. So far he has only appeared in this one episode as a background character. In the following episode, Gus mentions to Hector that with Joaquin's death, Hector is the last remaining Salamanca to be alive, which strongly implies that Lalo is dead by the time of this episode. Laker23
How Rhea hasn't won an Emmy for her role is beyond me, the woman absolutely brings it. Not sure I've ever felt so tense watching a scene in this show as I was in that ending scene. Really hope I see Tony Dalton in more stuff going forward, he's been a breath or fresh air and a fantastic villain since being introduced. Unfortunately can't see him lasting much longer, perhaps even as soon as tonight. Won't be a fun wait for the final season, that's for sure. Jabalous
What an epic conclusion to Season 5. It's going to be a tough wait for the final season, and it's probably not airing before Fall 2021. Lalo is turning to be one of my favorite characters in the Breaking Bad - Better Call Saul universe. Legomanarthur
That was an awesome season, just like all the others I should say. I love this show so much. I can't believe we are near the end of it though, there are so many things we have yet to see in these 13 episodes. I can't wait to see how they will conclude this show. By the way, I don't know if anybody noticed but in the teaser of 508 you can briefly catch a glimpse of the real Bravado Banshee in the Salamanca warehouse. Laker23
Great series, that whole thing seemed to fly by. The last three episodes especially were top notch stuff. Spoiler As much as I didn't want Lalo to die just yet because he's absolutely fantastic, I had to laugh at how incompetent the 'best in the business' assassins turned out to be. Poor Nacho can't catch a break. I really hope he makes it out of this whole thing alive. Nice to see my prediction of Kim getting so fed up of Jimmy's sh*t that she leaves him looks to be firmly wrong at this point. I still think she'll end up in so much sh*t she will have to call the 'vacuum guy.'

Doctor Dollars
Idk if it's been brought up on here but I was watching bagman episode and the banshee replica from gta v makes an appearance in this episode. you can compare pics from this website and see in the garage that the cousins walk past it when they go to pick up the money for lalo's bail, it even still has the "grand theft auto banshee" decal on the windshield
