tejasm
Since Breaking Bad ended very recently, the creator of Breaking Bad, Vince Gilligan, is now making a spin-off series entitled "Better Call Saul!" which will star Bob Odenkirk as Saul and may feature cameos such as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. It is official as Netflix had won the rights to stream it to overseas countries just a few days after the premiere of the first episode which will happen next year. The show will be a prequel about Saul Goodman and will lead up to the events when Saul becomes Walter White's and Jesse Pinkman's lawyer. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/10520855/Better-Call-Saul-spinoff-to-air-on-Netflix.html http://www.bettercallsaul.com/ Edited October 26, 2020 by Kirsty changing OP

El Dildo
yeah I can't wait for this. we should stop bumping the BB thread with information about Saul and get this topic going. Vince Gilligan has already said that he would love to bring back characters from BB for cameos in Better Call Saul. that means we should get little hints and clues about events that happened during Walter White's story which involved his lawyer but took place off-camera. Saul is going to have his own original storyline of course, but having references to Breaking Bad history will be awesome.
Kippers
Awesome. A reason to keep my Netflix subscription going since BB ended. I'm willling to give this a chance. There's so much potential for this to be equally as interesting as BB was. 習うより慣れろ

Tracksuit Hitman
I've been waiting for this for a while now. I reckon we'll see how Saul met "the who knows the guy" (Mike) before we see Walter and Jesse come into the scene. It'll be good to see things from Saul's point of view. I think we can all agree Saul's the main reason that we shared giggles whilst watching Breaking Bad. I reckon this spin-off will give us even more giggles than Breaking Bad did every time Saul entered the scenes. k33g, Johnny Playert and The Leviathan 3 aka geobst

"That's good stuff" as Walter White said. Where is it ever proven that that was how he was poisoned? When would Walt have had the chance to get close enough to Brock and convince him to eat it? Vormek
|UPDATE: At the 2013 Comic-Con Vince Gilligan explained exactly how he and the writers imagined Walt got the poison to Brock, and it wasn’t, as I had thought, through Saul. Instead they pictured Walt as the “Evil Juice Box Man” going into Brock’s school and giving him a juice box that had juice from the poison berries. And if you’ll look closely at episode 413 “Face Off” (thanks to Greg below for pointing this out), when Walt busts into Saul’s office, Francesca is shredding school schedules. It’s a big spreadsheet of classes and times but there are notes on the side that seem to be one student’s personal schedule, most likely Brock’s. So, kudos to the writers on including that little detail, and again to Greg for noticing that what’s was being shredded. End of update. http://emiliajordan.com/2012/07/31/breaking-bad-how-walter-white-poisoned-brock-and-what-happened-to-the-ricin-cigarette/ This is a good read on it. I see. I guess I just assumed it was placed in Brock's cereal box, because in the episode "To'Hajiilee" Walt pays Andrea a visit and he sees Brock eating cereal, after which he replies. "Fruit Loops... that's good stuff".
Xerukal
Hope Mike makes a cameo in this. I miss him. I miss everyone, damn it. I need my tissues again. Edited December 22, 2013 by Xerukal
Jonesizzle
It'd be nice to eventually find out what happened to Saul after the ending events of BB. I hope we see everyone back at some point in this show.

Brown Sugar
I just finished watching Breaking Bad last night. Saul had to be one of my favourite characters so I look forward to watching this, hopefully Bill Burr will be back even if it is just a small part like he had in Breaking Bad. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is "fixer" Mike Ehrmantraut, a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "Criminal lawyer." The series' tone is dramatic, wove with dark humor." johnny_zoo
Awesome. Breaking Bad was dynamite, so this has to be good and on the same level. I thought Bryan and Aaron werent coming back for this series? I gues they changed their mind. Thing is though I don't how this will work can Saul carry the whole show by himself? I hope the story is as good as BB's was.
Johan
I don't remember Bryan or Aaron saying that, every time I heard about them and Better Call Saul they always said they might make an appearance. Really pumped, might have to re-watch the show again before 2015 comes.
Johnny Playert
Yeah i'm pumped for this too... I really like what they're gonna do with it, the transition of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman, that's a similar story as BB's. Also Saul's comic relief is gonna be worth it already. Really hoping Bill Burr and Lavell Crawford make it in as well. But let's just hope they focus more on the drama than the comedy. Isn't it supposed to start airing like November this year?? Xerukal
Isn't it supposed to start airing like November this year?? I've heard the same, yep. November. This is supposed to take in 2002, from what I've read. I know Breaking Bad's in-show events pretty much spanned a whole year (2007 - 2008, i think), with Walt's birthday in Season 5 and all. So that'd be 6 years before the final events of BB? Edited July 13, 2014 by Xerukal

I think what Bryan and Aaron meant about appearing on Better Call Saul is that their might be some flashbacks or flashforwards which include references to Walter and Jesse (whether physical or not). there might also be simple appearances in real-time (not a flashback or forward) where Walter or Jesse cross paths with Saul very briefly before any of the events of Breaking Bad begin. esmittystud101
I won't miss this. Sal made Breaking Bad better, don't get me wrong, they would have made it without him. But he made Breaking Bad better for me. I only have two episodes left on Breaking Bad. Pretty good show.
Jonesizzle
I hope, just hope, that it'll eventually show two things related to Breaking Bad. The media frenzy of Walter White and what life is for Saul after Breaking Bad. They don't need to indulge too much into it, just a little taste. The Gardener
Looking forward to this quite a bit. Saul and his business is very interesting. It being set around 2002 I feel also helps the show. Hopefully when the show reaches season 5 or 6, it'll have reached 2008 when Breaking Bad starts and we might get to see Walter sometime around then or after.
