Had one hell of a day yesterday on GTA...

All kinds of insane things were happening. I think that's what draws me in to GTA so much, the level of insanity. It's something you'd never experience in your day to day life. You can press a button and dive into a city defined by mayhem at every turn. I love escapism and this game is the ultimate escape from a mundane reality.

The day started, as usual, with me being shot at by some punk. I don't mind this, it's kind of cute that they think they can dominate whoever they please. It's not so cute for them when you sink twelve rifle bullets into their chest.

From there I moved on to something a little more peaceful. I found a group of butterflies and thought it would make a nice picture to show my girlfriend. She didn't care. I care, the small details impress me.

Next I massaged an angry waiter's face while he forced his fist right the way through my upper arm.

His friends apparently didn't like the idea of me gently caressing him so they came after me.

It didn't take long for them to turn on each other, though. As I jumped the wall to safety, they followed and began fighting each other over who gets to kick me to death.

Then I made my way to the hair stylist to get my beard washed. I somehow must have 'accidentally' slipped and pushed the chairs because they ended up impaling her... to death.

Later on I made a new friend, a guy in camo gear who kept dropping his ammo all over the street for me to pick up like a hungry dog. He instructed me to call a mugger on him so I could take the money despite the fact that I am in no way struggling for cash. I did so anyway. Neither of us were expecting the obese lady stood nearby to pull out a knife and shank him. I guess some people will do anything to put food on their table.

Finally, I ended the day atop a rooftop staring into the distance as a rocket span through the air towards me from what appeared to be nowhere.

Is there any lifestyle whereby a person is able to go from taking pictures of butterflies to watching an obese woman stab a man for money to dodging an RPG heading for your face? Rockstar have encapsulated escapism with GTA Online. I was out today thinking, "If I had my rifle and my Rapid GT, I could shoot these pedestrians and drive off before anyone could even think about stopping me".

Obviously I would never, ever harm another human being, nor would I advocate it. I just find myself thinking of my GTA Online character and imagining what he would do in my shoes. How he'd respond to the dull streets, the lifeless people, the slow-moving traffic. I think he'd end up killing everyone and claiming the town as his own. The police here wouldn't be able to stop him.

Anyway, I wanted to share my recent experiences with you in the hope that somebody can relate and enjoy knowing that there are others out there who genuinely love this game. I have no complaints whatsoever, I appreciate it for what it is and these posts are my way of showing my gratitude to Rockstar.

It's things like these that make me love GTAO. You can go from a simple shootout with a punk to standing on a tall building waiting fro that rocket to blow you to hell. I wonder how many people associate their character as themselves in a world which allows them freedom to do what they want instead of just an avatar for playing a game.

I definitely inject my own personality/opinions/morals into my character when I play. It's not just a generic criminal, it's me. The way he dresses is how I'd dress.

I show my girlfriend things like this and she's like 'Meh Saints Row was better and then I proceed to kick her out of my theater.

Hard to believe all the positivity I'm getting over my posts. I should have joined in here a long time ago instead of lurking for months. Thanks for the comments, I honestly expected more aggression and hostility. There is hope for this place yet.

my character is identical to me in everyway except my characters eyes are hazel and mine are brown.. same exact clothes i normally wear (black swat team pants with all the pockets and a black shirt with black converse). same hair style. i really get sucked into the game for that fact. if only life was like gta.

uncool story bro 2/10 for effort

My confidence is shattered. I'm seriously considering deleting my account and never visiting this forum again. Your approval meant everything to me and now I am a broken man. :/
