Was GTA V as good as you expected it to be?

All the people putting 4 on blast haven't played it recently enough to say the sh*t they do. I've been replaying 4, and it's driving smokes 5s, and its protags aren't nearly as dull.

And why is that? Because you can scrape the skirts on the road?

Yes. Right now I've been loving Online but playing the story back when the game released was just great. I thought Rockstar did a tremendous job with the game in general. I also like how Online is constantly expanding whether it be clothes, game modes and of course heists when they come out. I don't plan to stop playing this game anything soon.

I voted yes and I expected:

 

The ability to steal and drive/fly any car/helicopter/plane

A wide variety of weapons to shoot anything that moves

Three characters and a switching system

A big map with collectables/stunt jumps/etc scattered around

Free roaming and a wanted system

 

I'm pretty happy with what I got, but there is still room for improvement/surprises in future games.

it's funny how with V they made everything i imagined about SA (back in '04) real, so that's a good thing ^ ^

There were some let downs, But i think, for the most part, the game was amazing, and yes. It was as good as I expected a game to be on last gen's consoles. I really will be disappointed if the next GTA isn't a absolutely jaw dropping thing. But I do understand why it couldn't happen with this one.

Best GTA ever.. (In my opinion each gta beats the previous by miles!) and a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.. Online is great, lots to do, and besides a short stint on black flag, which was awful, I've not touched any other game since 5 has been out..

I haven't played any other games since I got gta 5!! There's a lot of things missing in the game that should of been added on like a brass knuckle and restaurants and an arcade machine etc. But other than that I'enjoy the game SP & Online!!

You can play this game in solo and wander for hours, mesmerized.

Rockstar has again proven that they put everything they have into their titles.

The game has humor, subliminal jokes interesting people, places...etc and a game world that is a sheer masterpiece to behold.

 

They outdo themselves every time, and this is no different.

was a good as i anticipated apart from the size of the city and story, seems too small almost like an episodes game.

i went with no. a big expectation for me was the vtol f35 looking jet that was in the trailers but was cut out for some reason. i really miss the harrier and apache from SA and they couldn't even deliver on the replacement.

GTAO is pretty f*cking awesome but it has been handled horribly. R* said it would have heists but 8 updates later and still no sign of them or even a release date.

they said they would listen to the fans and tailor the game based on what we like. missions and races by far are the most popular activities so they decided to nerf them to encourage us to do the other crap, instead of focusing on making more interesting missions and races.

the invite and matchmaking system is crap and games rarely come close to having adequate numbers of players. IV did this better in its early days.

it should not lock onto friends and crew or at least give you an option in the quick select menu.

i don't even need to explain what's wrong with the bad sport system do i?

To me it was a bit like Skyrim in that regard. It seems amazing the first good few hours but then it just became redundant and almost a chore to complete. The 'world' is great but c'mon, who actually just goes exploring in a GTA game? That's not why I play GTA games and I don't buy that anyone else does.

 

It's the first GTA game I've played for a week and then put back in it's box, afterwards I replayed through Tlad and realised why I love GTA in the first place.

 

GTA V just tried too hard to be everything at once, and fair play to Rockstar because that's ambitious however, I don't think it paid off, and we're left with a great looking game that lacks substance.

Simply put: it met my expectations; as I would expect, with R* getting better and better with their art. Extremely fun game with a huge amount of replayability in regards to things to do and find, as well as multiple mission options!

 

It's just unfortunate that the minority haters use this forum as a platform to whine and troll, because V wasn't exactly like their previous precious GTA...

I used to hate the game but now it's actually very nice, replayable, fun, and sometimes after playing with brightness settings, it gives beautiful effects. I guess my expectations were too high.
