I'm glad they took out the meaningless attributes of past games...Like eating, ...

Were you juggled as a baby? Eating was one of the most essential parts of past GTA titles! It was the quickest, easiest, most convenient way to restore your health and it boggles my mind why they left it out of this one. It's such a chore to have to keep trucking back to my safehouse just to get my health back up. It's especially frustrating when you consider how easily you lose health in this game. Absolutely ridiculous.

Were you?

There are 15 Grand Theft Auto games, and only five of them do you eat in.

I can't say it was as good as I expected it to be, but then again, Its still pretty good for the most part. It won't be a San Andreas 2.0 or uphold the legacy IV still has, but its good..

Yeah, good.
Not great

Good

Maybe 70-80%
IV and SA are closer to 90%
GTA V
Meh

Apart from having few interiors, it was above and beyond to me. For two reasons, I play games for gameplay and I wasn't expecting GTA San Andreas 2.0.

For the most part yes it's as good as I expected. There are some things I feel could have been better but nothing that takes away from my overall enjoyment.

After the masterpiece we know as San Andreas came out I expected GTA to keep on improving with every release as any normal person would, I remember thinking IV was gonna be the best game ever after seeing previews, trailers on TV and hearing about the game, I remember getting excited thinking about how much there was gonna be to do and interact with, but instead we get Roman, hotdogs and bowling with simple go here, then go there and shoot that guy missions, I was and I still am confused as to how a GTA game manged to be so f*cking disgustingly sh*t, but it was the first GTA on PS3/360 so I decided to give R* the benefit off the doubt, maybe they found it difficult on a new gen, maybe I was wrong, maybe they haven't gone mad, but then this piece of sh*t came out, a f*cking yoga simulator......somehow they manged to make a worse game than IV, I dont know how it happened but it did and it can't be undone.

I didn't really expect it to be anything, so it definitely lived up to my expectations. I was one of the ones you really didn't wanna follow all the news, trailers, screenshots and information about GTA V because I didn't want to over-hype myself on the game. That way, when it finally arrived, I would experience it with fresh eyes and ears like the old days before the internet.

By the way, I did the same thing with The Last of Us. The only thing I ever saw about The Last of Us was the first reveal teaser.

I've eaten in GTA V. Go into a connivence store and buy some food. I've done it. It's possible.

I'm not sure what I was expecting since this is my first GTA title. I got an open world that I can drive or fly just about everything and in that respect it met my expectations. I was expecting a longer story and more ways to make money but it fell short in that regard.

The level of detail for some things is staggering and as far as that goes it exceeded my expectations.

And even though I rarely go in the water it's the best damn water I've ever seen in a video game. So again, expectations exceeded.

Overall I'm happy with it but I hope at least some of the additional DLC adds to the SP experience.

Apart from missing stuff that has been illogically left out from the game, it did meet my expectations.

Well there we have it folks, f*ck innovation, lock the f*cking thread, close the f*cking forum down it's over, this guys happy he can drive cars and fly things around a f*cking virtual map, I mean its not like that's been possible since 2001 in the first ever 3D GTA is it? As long as him and those like him are all extremely pleased with how wet the water is and being able to drive cars, that's all that matters.

U mad bro?

We all have different expectations. I'm new to the series and can't compare it to past games. I haven't played all the The Elder Scrolls games either and while I shouldn't compare them to this one I still feel like there was more to do in Skyrim than in GTA 5 and they're both considered open world games. You act butt-hurt because I commented on being able to drive and fly almost everything. Well this is my first experience at being able to do so. It doesn't mean I don't like or want innovation in the game nor does it mean I just like to drive around. I did expect a longer story and more side missions, with other activities I could do that didn't just disappear after doing them once.

I was just sharing my opinion on a thread that appears to have been started with the intent to bash on the game.

I'm able to enjoy what I have even though it should be better. Just because it's not really innovative doesn't mean it can't still be a good game.

@ The Masterfocker

It may be retarded to you, but I sure can understand why people would insult GTA V in that way loool

If you ask me, Rockstar really made a complete ass of themselves by boasting about yoga in the previews, like it was supposed to be so exciting to look forward to. It would not have been so bad if they added much more decent crime-related content to yoga and the rest, but as V stands now, they just look downright silly, hence the yoga insults. I can remember when the preview where they first mentioned there was no properties, but they have brand-new features like yoga - and nearly everyone on here was like, "what the f**k !!??" .

The RDF will always be there to assure us that regardless of V's flaws we can still rejoice and take comfort in the fact that we have.....YOGA !!!!

Maybe I wasn't specific enough. When I said "past GTA titles" I didn't mean every GTA before V. I know it hadn't been invented yet in GTA3 and (I think) it was left out of LCS and VCS. I was just saying in the past games that included eating, like Vice City and IV, it was a very helpful gameplay mechanic. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yes. This is the first GTA game I played, so I went into the series without being blinded by nostalgia. I watched some trailers and thought it looked fun, so I bought it.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised, because I didn't think I'd end up loving the game as much as I do.

best GTA of all time.

This sums up my feelings.

to me I had a lot of exceptions for GTA5... Like I said, rockstar was very lazy with this game. Like i said when i first started responding to these post.... this game was in DEV since 2008.

I know you can't compare these games butt....

How long did skyrim take??? 3-4 years Look how f*ckkin big the map the map is? Look how much sh*t is in that game. And on top of that its a SP game, you can enjoy it without tanks and trolls...

6 Years for -- 3 Characters that has no chemistry (they wanna kill each other at the end? Niko never killed jacob...... They suppose to be friends! Yea money got involve but to choose to kill one at the end?? OPT C is the way to go if you wanna keep all 3 ........... Limitations, barley no interiors, clubs, gas stations for once.... you should have to eat!!! it would've given people a little task to do attest... a lot of features i thought would remain (all the mini games) ..... someone please tell me why they aren't in the game.... some fanboy please!!

the game is good but honestly a 6/10

Niko Brother or Masterfocker will come in here making up BS why things were cut. Give them time. At least Masterfocker will be a bit more respectful posting it. Niko on the other hand will just be immature with it like he's with every other person bashing V.

Was I just called immature by redx165?

Where's that rope.

bash the fash m8s

funny fact is that there are 3 negative options and 2 positive yet the positive options are in lead on the votes, which, considering we are in gtaforums, is incredibely suprising :O

In all honesty, no.

I'm not gonna say why because I've stated GTA V's flaws many a time on here in various threads.

But having said that, it's still a fantastic game. I think the reason for it not meeting my expectations was a mixture of Rockstar and myself over hyping it before release.
