Besides levelling up and earning money what do you do?

After posting the thread about my game still being fun even with money I can't help but notice that a few people seem to say that they want some sort of goal and a lot of other people say they enjoy the free roam aspects of the game.

 

So I was wondering what people actually get up to in the game besides progression. I remember the great times I have had in all the other GTA games right back to GTA1 (now I feel old and i'm only 20....) where I sometimes wouldn't even start the story because I was just having so much fun.

 

I myself love the content creator and finding ways to make interesting maps. MAde a few interior ones. I also love finding unique things to do in the free roam such as picking up tanks with a cargobob and becoming the hero Los Santos didn't want nor need.

I start getting into killing (or being killed) random player

few days before I had a sniper game with someone near my home, we didnt use tank, just sniper rifle. and I have to say, THAT IS JUST TOO INTERESTING.

this recalls the movie the enemy at the gate, we camp our own spot, and we hunt each other, and when we know where the other guy is, we either scope and kill them, or run into that building for some CQB action, which is just all about skills

My friends and i .... set challenges while we just goof off in freemode.......granted these challenges don't pay money .....we just see something like and say guys lets see who can pull this off,

 

I can see where free roam could be dull or get dull after a while if all you did was drive around doing nothing.......i mean hell how many times do you want to do the stunt jumps or rob a store..

we are not a crew of grievers .....so just driving around looking for other players to kill at random does not appeal to us........

 

Trying Custom Content is fun, but i wish we had more options when creating, like create a job or whatever you want to call it that was carried out in freemode

I had an interesting sniper fight with a player who was on a rooftop. I grabbed a heli and got onto the top of the construction yard just too scope him. Was fun.

I think they may be releasing a content creator for missions but don't quote me on that. For what it can do right now the content creator is quite powerful. When I do get bored of freemode I just hop into a deathmatch or race or even make my own. So many options so little time.

But I also do weird stuff like get some friends into a Mule's box and grab the mule with a cargobob. I also take random players in the Mule and lock the box's doors then throw them in the water. I also take my Bati801 and make awesome jumps and I travel so well with it that peoples are like ''I think he is in an helicopter''.

 

This game can be awesome if you have imagination or know what awesome is.

I love the idea of trapping someone in the mule and then dropping it into the sea. Thats smart.

Recently I have taken up golfing , then stealing cars at the country club until I get a bounty, then running to the nearest store, killing the clerk, then killing cops to get 4+ stars - then leading them all on a chase at other players for as long as I can survive (missed a 9k payout by only 3 min the other day).

I ass-ume you just Received money and made no effort to earn it via skill/time investment

Unless you earned all that cash..than thats Cool.

I've earned over 20 million from jobs, I get a healthy measure of all game play types, but most of my moneys from missions; I have a friend who was gifted 50mil plus, he plays "alot" of missions still; hes also quite terrible at them; doesn't stop him from buying everything without a single worry.

 

Im rich because I made the money, I don't necessarily worry about losing money at all, but knowing I have one additional aspect of gameplay to focus on: staying rich; means I have to consistently Play Well. Where as cheaters, hacks, and charity cases,.. its irrelevant if you finish every job in last, and fail each mission on easy..as long as you keep spamming hackers for cash and ..Hav FuN?.

However I enjoy long walks on the beach, bmxing around the mountains, flying planes max altitude until I reach the map border and the engines quit- than seeing if I can make it back and land pure glide (if wings are intact.)

I'm always experimenting with Jack Ass scenarios, seeing if I can survive situations that would otherwise result in being Wasted i.e flying planes an inch above the ground and jumping out, skydiving with random objects and a cargobob etc, I have yet to golf, or play darts, I enjoy tennis but everyone quits.

I assist people who are bullied by players that have better weaponry, I send Mercenaries and Muggers to the bullies, I give Ammo Drops for friendlies, I give them free Helicopters via Merryweather Helicopter Pickup...

me and my teammate are trying to level up so we are just focusing on completing missions or any other random activity that give us RP.

 

i personally hate it when someone comes by and kills me for no reason only then, i start the vengeance mode and can't relax until i kill him/her multiple times.

 

other than the above, im trying to max skills when im alone.

I earned plenty of money throughout the game but it got to the point where it was boring and detrimental to my enjoyment. The fact that I was given money just opened up the game for me. Honestly the mission kind of suck. The only reason I did them was because I needed the money not because I enjoyed them so I am glad to have that aspect gone. Now I can concentrate on what really makes the game fun for me. Free Mode and Competitive game modes.

I drift with my buddies like A LOT. Vehicle gameplay is the most fun for me. Last night we were using a Cargobob to put our cars on top of the arena and had a demolition derby/drift fest.

I've been trying to beat my own record of 30.33 miles driven w/o accident, there is another user who posted in a thread I made about it saying they did 39 miles in an infernus. I don't know if they were in a private session but my personal minigame's rules are lobby is to be public and as full as possible.

I earned plenty of money throughout the game but it got to the point where it was boring and detrimental to my enjoyment. The fact that I was given money just opened up the game for me. Like I said...soo you are here to promote cheating Not fulfillment. ok.

I just switch modes when I'm looking for a change I am rank 162, I have Never had to worry about money. You can't help but make it, unless you don't how to-- which is when you turn to cheating i.e^ your statement.

 

I am hoping all of this gets controlled at some point, apparently modders are boosting others to rank 1000 ontop of big bounties and gifting, I've managed to avoid it all..its ruined some peoples experience of the game prompting them to delete characters, it would ruin mine too. Honestly I was excited about this game, heists, dlc etc, but if this free money nonsense keeps happening ill be done with gta online its turned a great product into a Joke simply put. I prefer things like "objectives, payoffs, plans, tactics, and Thinking." I can see where you are coming from and honestly I used to play games that way ALOT but I don't anymore, I've abandoned all form of alterations/cheating in every game I own, and play games as intended as its brought me more fun and skill.

 

If I get gifted some infinite cash supply by a hacker, I doubt ill keep playing as much as I love gta.
