Biohazard Abyss

This is where it pays to have friends. But sometimes I've been lucky. Yesterday I started a playlist of my races called the Lotus Cup, and I had 2 shy of a full lobby. They all stuck around for the entire thing (12 races) and gave all my tracks upvotes, too.

The only thing I hate is when you get that one guy that lands a bad jump, misses a tricky turn, etc, and downvotes because it made them lose. I, for one, enjoy playing races to familiarize myself with them, and learn to handle these obsticles. It's a big part of the fun for me; racing a track enough to get familiar with it and learn its nuances. Y'know, like a real racer.

I had a full 8-player lobby in the IAA building which is broken to sh*t, but still fun.

-You can walk through a lot of the walls

-There is a place you can stand where you become invinicible, but you can't shoot others

-And the spawn quota forces spawn killing

But it's all good fun for just crazy deathmatch antics so everyone gave it a thumbs up except the dude who went 3-14

The way around unpreventable spawn killing is to make the maps large enough that people don't cram into one spot. This is why I don't do indoor deathmatches.

Humane Labs isn't a cramming.

Like I said, the spawn quota is dumb. If you want a 8 player maximum, R* forces you to put 16 spawn points, NOT including the team start points.

What if I want my map to be free-for-all only? Oh yeah, I'm not given that freedom so I have to just slap another sh*tload of spawns all over the ground just to meet the requirement.

Hey guys, check out my races, i promise that you won't be disappointed :) i'm not one of these people who just place checkpoints like an idiot.

And if you want, you can try out my deadmatch, it's really cool :) - http://rsg.ms/1bJBsxb

Someone didn't read the OP. Sorry, but you're only supposed to suggest other people's races here. If you want to plug your own, there's a thread for that in the Gameplay section.

I'm not 10, and my creations are FAR from random, good sir.

My highest rated track now has 40 likes, with a good 90% of them being from randoms.

Ugh, tell me about it. I had one kid BEG me to try out his race, so I did, and it was horrible. It was a bike race that went into the tower that's under construction downtown, and one of the checkpoints was on the goddamn roof. That meant riding your cycle up one of those tight-ass plywood ramp staircases for about 10 stories.

Needless to say, I downvoted it and told him it was not quite something I enjoyed.

I joined a DM that was called 'Battle of Los Santos'

It was 16 players across the entire city. Guns in the centre and tanks and jets here and there. The vehicles didn't show up on the minimap. No blips. Spawn points on the outer parts of the city.

Quit 10 seconds into it. Got an apology message from the creator at least.

It was basically free roam without blips.

Ugh. I hate ones that are too huge. I wind up spending most of my time just simply trying to find someone. That's why I make mine relatively small, in an area that lends itself to a "stage" type of feeling, such as a boatyard or a trailer park.

When they said, "Prepare for the Explosion," I think they meant the massive volume of player-created races and deathmatches. There is no way to keep up or sort through them. And as many people have said, not surprisingly, a large percentage of player-created content is bound to be horrid, or at best would take a few tries to get familiar with them, and there just isn't time.

So I like the idea above, for forum members to link to jobs that they have found to be good.

GrandTheftBatman

I've only ever came across one, and TBH it was ok. It was a race across a bridge, was going well until some obstacles and barriers just spawned out of nowhere and there was a 10 car pileup.

I've tried to invite people to try out my maps but sadly I've had no takers. :panic:

Because this game's matchmaking sucks.

You have to have your lobby at least half full before players start to pile in. I had to invite a bunch of my friends to my Humane Labs map so randoms would start joining.

I got surprised when I joined a Quick Job and it turned out to be my very own Deathmatch! I was so proud.

I believe the perfect size for a map is just beyond render distance for the sniper. Zancudo swamp and the wind farm are examples of these. I also made one on the woods near the saw mill. Have had the best death matches there.

If you want to try them here are the links below. ...

No. I'm only interested in my own creations.

That's a shame. How can you expect others to race your tracks if you won't even give any that you didn't make a chance?

It'd be like someone going to a potluck dinner, then only eating what they brought. Why the heck did you even come to the party then?

Then again, I guess you could argue that that's exactly what you're doing; sitting at home, eating your own potato salad for eternity. If you're fine with that, who am I to argue? Godspeed, potato salad man.

I try the races when i see it is CC, ......and Bookmark the ones i like, ........

I hope with the next update, it would be possible to turn on and off content created by people and let it show up on my map without having to wait for an invite first, or search the forum for a link to add

Maybe show content from Crews, Friends, everyone .....i guess they would have to make it for only the players in that session

i would even like to be able to turn off some of rockstars content and not have it show up on my map

As long as you don't put shotguns on the map and force people to spawn with a certain weapon

... I might have fenced off the maze, put the spawns inside with shotgun as forced and pick-ups ... It's fun as hell, tho xD

Definitely. I mean, why not? There are definitely some talented people out there, who know what they're doing and aren't afraid to keep things small and simple. A lot of people just go big and use the entire prison map, or the entire airport in Sandy Shores. That sh*t's cray, yo. It'd be a shame to miss out on the good stuff just because of the majority of nincompoops. Fistfight only deathmatches? SURE, love em. Just don't throw cars in to the mix, numbnuts.

I try to make my races events. Like located in particular areas, with certain elements as the real star of the show. Like Hillbilly Hotwheels, a race I made that starts off in the sleepy little mountain town at the foot of Chilliad and winds it's way all the way around the mountain to the Alamo Sea. Or the urban race I made in the 'hood that includes a stop at Burgershot's drive-thru. I try and make them unique and memorable, not just "here's two checkpoints on either end of the map, fend for yourself."

my "The Mile Drive Club" is one mile long, starting and ending at Grove Street. But it goes through the tram tunnel. Basically, it's one tramtrack that goes in to the tunnel, loops around and comes back out the tunnel. Then I have a race set at the beach where you need to drive under the pier, with a rather tricky checkpoint behind it. You need to be paying attention there and on the way back, when there's traffic on the road. Getting on the road requires some precision driving as well, cuz there's a bump that can make your car go a bit loopy.

Point is that I like races with a bit of a twist to them.

Squirrel__Army

I love the indoor deathmatches too, it's quite hard getting full lobbies so you need to have a fun match with 3-6 people as you don't want to be spending the whole time running around a large map looking for someone to shoot just for them to be hiding behind a crate the whole time.

Shameless self promotion time but I created a couple of fun indoor ones, 1st one is inside the Vanilla Unicorn, due to the size of the building it's limited to 6 people only and no room for weapon spawns either so I just made it into a straight fist fight. Lot of fun!

The other small one I made was inside a bank in the north of the city. It actually has bulletproof glass in the middle of the main area so even though you can see the opposition you can't shoot straight at them. You have to find your way in around the side. Works great as a team deathmatch.

As for the rockstar verification, is there anything anywhere on the internet that actually describes the selection process? Obviously the higher rated ones will get noticed but other than this forum where else can you post to get your creations noticed by a larger audience? The matchmaking process can't really be relied on.
