i get the feeling of both from the rhino tank, partly because it silently rolls down the street forever alone causing havoc on los santos, also if the tank is in the hands of an experienced pilot, can easily be used to bring an entire server to its knees

Replying to the topic though, tanks are easily sniped as well, plus there's the use of muggers, so it really depends on who you're up against. The tank could do well or it could fail miserably.

I had my first long session in a tank last night. I didn't go round killing everyone (I generally don't play like that), but found that about 90% of people would immediately start trying to kill me. One guy really went for it - driving into me over and over again, and I hadn't killed a single player so it wasn't some vengeance thing. He also sent some abusive texts. Basically, as much as there are wankers driving round in tanks, people tend to turn into wankers when they see them!

 

It was quite funny sitting in a hanger at the airport when I had a bounty on me. Cars would roll up, see a tank and then quickly scarper.

I've noticed the mentality of a lot of people in the game tend to lower when they see a tank as well. People assume way too much.

 

That being said, I tend to snipe first and ask questions later if I do see a tank. In my experience, most of the time they're out to kill anyone they see.
