I'm curious to know how many more patches y'all think will be released. I'm not talking about add-on DLC but patches that effect game mechanics. I believe right now we are at 6 or 7.

 

There's a lot I'd like to see fixed. Too much to list. I for one am done with online until they stop putting restrictions on what vehicles we can have. Let's keep arguing down to a minimum. I'm jus curious to see what others think.

GTA IV had 7 patches total for the duration of its shelf life. This one is up to 7 and its not even x-mas. I'm guessing by 2014-2015 we will see version 3.0.1 LOL and maybe by then they will get it right.

Until all bugs/glitches/exploits are fixed, it's obvious. My guess 1.08 will fix the car duplication glitch and challenges.

I can see it being as high as 1.75 by next Xmas. But not until a next gen GTA is on the horizon or in the works will they stop with patches.

But as far as GTA:O is concerned, you're probably right. As long as the game is profitable in some way, they'll likely keep patching/updating until they/the players decide to move on to something else.

Well, ones definition of shelf life can vary, but if the game is being sold at a discount, it might be done.

True enough, and I think in Bethesda's case, they rely on the modding community to release 'unofficial' patches and the like. They also like leaving in certain harmless, 'funny' bugs, even when they're fully aware of them at launch (like being able to steal from people by putting baskets over their head in Skyrim).

lol. It will be around in a few years guaranteed. They finally started adding interest to the game and I've seen a lot of people return. It's more of a game where some people will come and go and others will stick around.

 

The game seems pretty healthy so far to be honest despite all of the nerfs and glitches.

 

 

 

As for patches, expect this game to be patched for a long time to come, especially if they add more and more features.

Lol, Cockstar has already said they plan on the CURRENT GTA Online lasting anywhere from 10-15 YEARS. There will be A LOT of updates. Mostly because this game is so f*cking broken and because Cockstar is dictating more and more with each update how you play their (what was supposed to be) "revolutionary" free roam game that you play as you want to play. LOL. Pretty soon you wont be able to store anything in your garage but a Vapid Stanier.
