Unable to fly in GTA: Online

I have a friend of mine who quite simply cannot fly in GTA: Online. Whenever he enters any sort of air vehicle (pilot or passenger) he has about 30 seconds with the vehicle until he losses connection from the game. I am able to pick up his car while I'm using the Cargobob but that's the only way he can get airborne. Has anyone else ever had this problem and has hopefully been able to find a solution?

Sounds like he has a connection problem.

 

If it happens every single time only during GTA and not say when he is surfing the internet in real life, maybe he can borrow someone else's game and see if it still does it...I don't know what else to add.
