Strange RP Glitch...

Okay, so me (rank 131) and my buddy (rank 88) were in an Xbox 360 LIVE party with each other, and I launched a race on my custom race track which I had created a couple of days prior. There were a couple of other players which joined my game, but I didn't personally know them. I launched the race and my buddy said he would join in five minutes.

 

So, my buddy returns from eating and joins my session as a spectator. He suddenly informs me that he had just received the Xbox 360 achievement for reaching rank 100 online, we both found that strange. So the race ended, and it said my buddy was rank 245. We continued to play on another race track (Rockstar created), and his rank continued to rise, and at the end of that race he was rank 1,000 and had earned 4,900,000 RP and $4,000,000,000.00 cash alone.

 

I informed him to reboot his console, just in case his character / account becomes permanently suspended. So my buddy reboots his Xbox and comes back at the ranking of 272. He was surprised, as was I. We reattempted this 'glitch' but didn't have any luck.

 

So the moral of this story is, how do you guys think this managed to happen? Would it have been due to one of the random players which had been in my first race. My buddy doesn't use modifications, and RP glitches cannot happen unless it's done through an account recovery, which it wasn't.

Seriously though, I think created races rewards you with RP and cash if they are approved/liked.

 

Might be just that.

Might be just that.

 

But even at that, 4-million RP is quite a lot just for someone approving / favoring your custom map.

i got 5000 RP for completing a 5 lap race, around the horse race track, in about 3 minutes.

Something strange like this happened to me, too. I was in a regular game with like 9 players, at rank 56. I climbed to the top of mount Chillad, and got the xbox acheivement for 80G. As i got that achievement, i got an rp boost that shot me to level 133.

This evening, I was boosting the likes and plays of my custom track, I wasn't coming 1st (loosing gets more likes and replays)

I came second and was given 7xxx rp and 14k and yet the results screen said I got 1250 rp and 1000 cash.

 

I'm definitely going to be investigating this further.

wonder whats going on, the other night there were "challenges" that were put up by random crews, you win hundreds of thousands for completing a simple race in just less than a minute

Sounds like someone has been playing with his dns settings to download a modified tunables.json

I had something similar happen the other day. I exited from a race I created back into Freeroam, and I got a notification saying I earned over 4 million RP for likes on my races.

Sadly, it didn't actually give me that RP. /shrugs
