Races, world records bullsh*t?

I was just playing the 'Quick getaway' race, and it says the world record is 2 minutes and 52 seconds.

 

This is impossible. I did it in 3 minutes and 23 seconds and I made not even one mistake.

 

How is this possible? Glitches? Cheating?

World records are a joke in all games. Since in all games people have cheated or glitched to get the best time possible.

Why doesnt Rockstar patch this? Would be pretty easy for them to check out the videos of the people setting the world record and see that they cheated or hacked it.

Two people drafting off of each other. That is probably how that record was set.

 

Most are set by cheaters though. Your best bet to try to set a record is boat races. No drafting and less people do them.

At this point Im just wondering why Rockstar even added leaderboards, since they obviously cant maintain them. I believe this was the case for RDR and MP3 too.

 

In the shooting range, there are certain people with over a billion in score, when the maximum amount possible is generally around 10-50k depending on the challenge. The annoying part is that the true highscores are rendered useless because nobody actually knows if they were hacked or not.

This game is a bit FUBAR by hackers but still fun to play tho if you don't pay much attention at, like said, those 'world records'

It should default to personal record times instead of being on world record when you join a race. Most people don't change it. I would rather try to beat my own lap/race times than just look at some obviously hacked, unattainable time the whole race.

all leaderboards on every online game are broken 5 minutes after release and no company has ever been able to do anything about it.

As expected, Rockstar did absolutely nothing to control hackers and glitchers, and if history tells us anything (IV), they likely never will.

Indeed. And why would they anyway? They made a billion dollars on the game, they dont really care.

When GTA VI comes out, people will still run to the store, and they know that.

I love how every game developer claims then ban every hacker then can. BULLsh*t. Every online game, just look at the f*cking leaderboards and you see thousands of hackers.

I got to lvl 80 by doing the race "In the Grove." I got my time down to 1:37 with the Carbonizarre. I won almost every single time I raced. The world record is 1:19. Impossible. I've never had anyone racing against me get sub-1:45.

We never had a problem with the MCLA leaderboards. We used to do goal attacks and break the top 10 all the time. Granted, there were about a million fewer people playing that game, but this is just a symptom of the vast number of people that have attempted the record. Someone is better than you, get over it.

 

The exception of this, of course, is the 1-2 second records. If your time is 20-45 seconds slower than the record, they are probably just better drivers. Trust me, people used to accuse us of cheating all the time when Alien Racing Club was still active. The fact of the matter is, we put our hours in and we were legitimately better. Proof:

I have a world record. Couldn't tell you what race but can tell you it was legit and it happened a few days after game release.

I wasn't trying to get it, just trying not to crash. Got my Blonde Racing Girl Tattoo and now realize how f*cking lucky I was.

Im pretty sure I did it with the Coquette, my stats say I've driven the Cabonizarre the fastest but that's recent.

 

It's a shame how these glitchers ruin everything. It would be cool if we actually had a real shot at these achievements where everyone had a chance to see their name up there, so many more people would be into the racing it would be fun.

When the Beach Bum DLC was released I think you could do any of the new races and set a world record by finishing first. At least, that happened to me and my time was nothing special.

You might want to take a look at the SP shooting range leaderboards before you claim that the billion scores are legit, which I was referring to in my post about Rockstar not maintaining the scores. Correct me if Im wrong

I was referring more to the racing records. I can't speak to any of the other leaderboards.

The RDR leaderboards are the cleanest of the three. Sure there are some obvious hackers, but most of it isn't total BS.

 

I should know, I'm the former #1 in the world for Venter's Place. I think I'm in the low 10s now though, due to the fact I haven't played that game seriously in over a year.
