joined a session and saw rank 253 surrounded by white dots, then a message alerts me that a 2b bounty was put on the guy. I immediately grabbed my vacca and rushed over by the theaters in vinewood.

 

parked on the opposite block of the mayhem and took it on foot so that I would arrive behind the bounty. posted on a corner and fired clip. Nothing.

 

God mode.

 

Put my rifle away and made a salute then headed around back the corner to my car… screen freezes, forcing me to restart

 

spawning in my apartment then boom… 107M in my account from the bounty.

 

Haven't glitched a dime and perfectly happy sitting on 2.3M with 8 cars that I like…. after reading the stories on the forum i now have the answer to my own question.

 

does it really get fun after the 1st 100m? thanks… i guess.

a lot of the threads are spot on IMO about getting more boring after too much cheese, just bought the GT stinger, tank, buzzard, and bullet. took 'em all out for a spin then it's back to my usual routine

If you enjoyed the game before, then whether you are broke or loaded won't make a difference.

 

Yes, earning cash from missions will become borderline pointless but that doesn't mean you still won't get enjoyment from winning races, completing missions with other players or surviving all 10 waves in survival without dying once.

 

The money was always an incentive to play the game more, but never were the true reason behind why the game is fun.

 

Guess you could call it a test of faith...

GTA IV didnt have all this money bullsh*t yet it was still fun to play. You don't need to have progression to have fun. Go buy a tank and blow up sh*t, buy some planes or a cargobob, mod cars for people or just go mad. The game isn't all about money. The money is just a means to an end.

i just dont get...so the entire point of the game is to grind the exact same missions over and over to pay rent?

i was gifted recently with some money and it hasnt ruined any of the fun.

 

i still do missions and do random chaos with my crew. what is taking the fun out of the game are the pyscho cops showing 30 at a time and trying to shotgun blast me to death because i have one star. at least now i have the money to replace all the stolen ammo and missing cars.

wait I may be slow but in your post you saw a hacked bounty, you rushed over to kill said bounty, that option failed so you left, then afterwards you were gifted an amount of money but now you complain about it...when if you killed the bounty you would have gotten the money anyways. (albeit much less money than if you claimed the 2bil.)

 

It looks like you were after the 2bil but then turned sour once they gave a smaller amount to you...or did i miss something?

yep i was after the 2B bounty, when i realized he was invincible i turned away.

 

Wasn't complaining at all though, however reading some of the threads about players getting sums of money, and subsequently losing the fun out of the game, was a curiosity.

 

now that I have first hand experience, i thought i'd chime in and share, ergo bank balance has no bearing in what makes my GTA game fun.

Glad to hear that you still enjoy the game regardless of the size of your bank. Personally the money making aspect of the game makes it less fun to me so having this happen would actually be great for me. I'm not going to go around searching for $999999999999999 bounties though, that would suck.

If I received this kind of money, I would thank the person immensely, and consider myself lucky that I can now enjoy the game without the need for some artificial motivator getting in the way.

 

If you're the kind of person that can only enjoy playing if you constantly receive numbers to make your other numbers bigger, then you might want to try not receiving a sum of money like this. Although you still have RP, K/D, and various other numbers to focus on.

 

If you're the kind of person that can enjoy playing for the sake of playing, like if you get into a fight with other players and enjoy the competition of trying to best them instead of getting upset that you died in a PvP game, then receiving this sort of gift should certainly improve your experience.

Got 66 mill then 100 mill a few days ago from a random "hacker". I just bought an adder over and over again replacing the same adder till I had the rough amount of money I had before. I'd rather earn my $$ then just get it like that, problem solved.
