Its diffrent to drive on snow then gras, you also walk diffrent in heavy snow.. why? why did they lay time on this when you are not there so mutch? i mean, why couldt they just do the handling in cars like it was gras? its slidy..

maybe we get snow later in game?

If this is true then I can't wait for snow in a future DLC. Living in the Midwest...I love driving in snow. Bring it on I say.

watch out for BLACK ice. its BLACK. not like white ice that you can see. BLACK ice is hard to spot.

It's been confirmed that we will in fact be able to visit NY, so there is a reason for the different handling and why they spent time on it.

Because its supposed be snow maybe?! Have you ever drove on snow? It's slippy and dangerous, I hate driving on snow, I refuse to take my car out due to nearly having an accident a few years back. I had my baby in the back seat and the brakes didn't do sh*t and slid out into a junction.

Rockstar havet kept the driving conditions realistic.

It sounds like you were driving too fast for conditions.

It sounds like you were driving too fast for conditions. Yeah, course I was. Because I'm really going to drive dangerously with a baby in the back!

I'm an experienced driver thank you very much.

We had four inches of snow fall in around an hour, hit out of the blue.

I tried to brake but snow was jammed in the pads, plus it was down hill.

driving in the the snow is horrible. in a videogame, sure.

They never get it right in video games. It's great fun in real life though.

L2drive?

Seriously though, if you are commuting home from work in traffic then yes, snow is terrible. But if it's a Saturday afternoon and you are out on less populated roads with nowhere to be and no female in the passenger seat yelling at you to quit it, you should be able to enjoy swinging the rear end around a bit.

Oh yes, pushing your luck in open roads putting everyone else in danger just to have some fun is great, no doubt.

Need sarcasm tags?

If you need a "female passenger" to tell you the obvious (that you´re being a first class moron) then you better marry soon for the sake of everyone else.

Sigh... knew this would happen. Well, before the inevitable thread lock for being off topic now, I'll just say there are ways to have fun in the snow while being safe. It's not for everyone, but you should also understand it's not like people who like driving in snow are doing donuts at 60 miles per hour.

You are assuming quite a lot but it's obvious your opinion won't change, so I won't try. However, I suggest you direct your safe driving efforts at the millions of people on the roads right now texting while driving.

A few years ago my mums boyfriend was doing donuts and drifts in a car park (in the snow). I was only about 15 but he let me have a go too, was great fun.

Because North Yankton was the opening sequence of the game. It's their only chance to make a great first impression, and it is something developers all over take very seriously.

If the first 10 minutes of gameplay are lame, chances are a portion of your players are just gonna stop playing right there and then, or at the very least hold your game in bad regards to start off with. Really bad with reviewers who generally base their review on their first couple of hours ingame.

So yes, even if North Yankton is barely used in the game, it was Rockstar's introduction to GTAV. It had to be good, and yes that involves walking in the snow :p

I guess... to answer OP... driving on grass and driving on snow, well those two aren't exactly similar... very different. Same with running through snow, that is similar to running through water, but not at all like running on grass. They did this to support levels in the game plus a DLC that will bring them more

The animations your character uses while running in deep snow is re-used. It can also be seen when you are in the mud next to Fort Zancudo.

Logically they just coded the area to have snow physics because its important to have attention to detail for the single player experience. You do in fact drive across the area so it should have snow physics.

As for those who say we'll get NY DLC... Right now I doubt it. The state the area is actually in isn't suitable for open world play and is clearly designed for linear gameplay. If we do get Ny DLC it won't be this same area, it may have the area we've seen in it somewhere but it won't be the exact area from the Prologue.

They would have to add a lot more to the area to make it worth being DLC. I'm talking at least an area the size of Los Santos or maybe a bit bigger. Otherwise theres not much point.

IF:

There's North Yankton DLC which includes:

-New story with 20+ new story missions

-New car customization

-New vehicles

-New clothes

-New weapon

-New full map of North Yankton

-New added features for Online

and that cost for $9.99.

.

.

I'll consider it very effing cheap.

How much did TLaD and BoGT cost? They didn't have map expansions but they were quite expansive themselves so a price similar to those would be fair.
