Coloring Stock Wheels

Since stock wheels are shiny, unlike the dullness that is alloy, I accidentally was able to color my Merryweather Mesas stock wheels

 

 

Notice how the rim is Sandy Brown, just like the front bullbar. This happened to me in this order

 

-Bought off-road custom rims

 

-Changed rim color to sandy brown

 

-Went back to the off-road rims section

 

-Went up to stock and BAM, colored

 

I thought I had discovered something awesome! I thought we could finally color the nice looking stock rims and not deal with alloy! I mean come on, look at the stock rims of a Western Bagger compared to alloy.

 

Anyway, I grabbed a Benefactor Serrano and tried the same method and got no results. I tried a few times, and nothing. I was pretty pissed off, but just wondering is there a way? Or has anyone else encountered this glitch?

I just bought all the wheels going back and forth to the stock wheels to see if the color stick to it, didn't work

it was an Adder.

Maybe it's a glitch only for the MW Mesa? I just don't want to take the risk loosing my colored wheels. The reason I like the stock ones is because custom off-road rims make the tires smaller.

Maybe it didn't work because the Surano's wheels are chrome? Did you try it with other cars?

I have always done this. i think a lot of stock, especially chrome stock, rims look just fine.

like the carbonziarre (is that right?) or most trucks. karin rebel too, and the wheel on the back of the trophy truck should change to whatever rim you equip and color.

there is not enough chrome rim options and keeping stock rims is usually the best option on a couple cars. IMO.

We should all honestly work together and compile a list or something of vehicles we can do it with lol that would be pretty sweet.

 

Especially the millionaries/billionaires because buying custom rims isn't an issue.

Yeah, like the Monroe.

 

It looks great with stock rims, but the others look tinier in comparison and (atleast, I think) make it handle worse.

western daemon is a great example of a bike.

change the rims and they loose the chrome black color and get smaller. buying wire rims and painting them turns them a flat non shiny color.

Does this also change the color of the spare tire rim on back? Does this still work and how would you get the original color back if you wanted it?
