Mission keeps Crashing in Pegorino's Pride

Okay so I'm having some problems completing the game but only because it keeps crashing! I have GTA IV for Ps3 and I want to complete it before I get V for Xmas. So here are my problems:

I had trouble with the mission "Paper Trail" because every time Niko and Jacob never talk and Jacob's rocket always misses and the target gets away. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm just not going it right or not... so I decided to carry on with the story and ignore the ULP phonecalls until I couldn;t get any further.

 

But then I came across another bug. In the mission "Pegorino's Pride" after I kill all the guys trying to kill Pegorino I go to rescue him but before the cutscene starts the game always CRASHES!!!!! And I have to restart my ps3, which can't be doing it any good.

 

I have tried both these missions millions of times but I always get the same results.

 

Could it be a bug in my ps3 or disc???

 

I have done all missions I can without completing these two, the last mission I did on my save file is Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. I have done all Assassinations as well to see if it fixes the bug and also some Most Wanted. But nothing works.

 

Anyone can you help? Shall I just buy a new copy?

Someone please help. I finally finished the Paper Trail mission by bailing out of the helicopter and fired my own RPG at the enemy chopper. But I'm still stuck on Pegorino's Pride!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It keeps crashing :S

Hmm..

 

Clean your disc and dry it properly. Blow the disc reader (some dust might be blocking it). It depends. You might have a large amount of data on your PS3 (from the other games). Delete some, that MIGHT help it. If your game never works, message me and I'll let you know what happens. I've completed the game over approximately 200 times.

I was looking on YouTube at some walkthroughs for the PS3 version of the mission (I don't know about the PC version or Xbox) and I noticed a slight pause when the cutscene I mention is triggered.... but on mine it just downright crashes

Oh.. I know what you mean. Yeah, once you kill all of the Pavano crime family members through that maze-like place in the industrial place, you have to check up on Jimmy Pegorino and there is a slight pause. That happened with me. I hope my suggestions worked.

 

Also - Once you have played GTA V, I bet that you will extremely dislike the GTA V driving physics. The physics are in comparison to a PS2 game. The GTA IV driving physics is completely different from GTA V. Have fun on GTA V though.
