I'm like you OP. I love cruising my muscle, sports, and sports classics car around LS. But I don't consider GTA V a car game. If I want to get into obsessive tuning, testing, driving, and designing, I fire up good ol' Forza 4 for that.

They need to revamp some things completely within the game and this is indeed one of those things.

In addition to your suggestions they should also adopt the Forza method of racing classes. (in case you don't know a car gets a certain numbered rank and any performance mods would allow that rank to rise or fall to be put into different classes like A,S ,B and so on.) This would then allow more variants within a race, not that important to some people but it just seems to be better in a lot of ways...though in all honesty the races would then end up being just the top ranking races with super cars....but still!

Also with this revamp should come a way to further customize the engine and performance parts. instead of just slapping top level items in the car and calling it a day, some people may enjoy more tweaking and fine tuning. This would also allow cars to be vastly different in some regards. One person may have a banshee perfect for drag races, while the next banshee may be more suitable for the races that require a lot of turning and control.

Some people may say what is the point only a few people will enjoy this and really get a benefit out of this (I am starting pull from some of my old ideas now...) but if we could sell cars to other players without duping or hacking, but I mean really sell them...then there could be the inkling of a real "economy" within the game and more things to do rather than rob stores, race criminal records, or death match free roams is always a good thing making game last longer.

Well my guess is, is that game is primarily a racing game, you'd expect those features in a game that the main focus is the cars.

Stuff like tire width is pointless in a GTA game. But there's a few things I'd like in that list to be added. We already have a vast majority, although, not all of them are available on every car.

I'll list what I'd like in bold and I'd list what I think is pointless by strike through, and what we already have in green. I commented with pisswasser, my pen was broken, soo thats why its yellow :p

FRONT:
-------
Change Frontbumpers - We already have this, although not available on all cars, it should be. More variety would be nice.
Change Headlights - Again, we have this, we can even change headlight covers on a few cars. Colours on park/lowlights could be cool on them tuners;)
Change Hoods - A lot of cars have this feature already.
REAR:
-------
Change Rear Bumpers - We already have this, although not available on all cars, it should be. More variety would be nice.
Change Spoilers - We have this already, don't really need more.
Change Tail lights - A feature I'd like. Some cars would look so much better. Hell yeah!!!
Change Exhausts - Not really much more they can do with this, what we have is sufficient enough. (yeah, really great looking too, NOOOOT!! :p
Change License Plates - We got this. Not all Android users Mohahaha
SIDE:
-------
Change Sideskirts - We got this, but again we need more variety.
Change Doors (Suicide, scissor etc) - Yes! Could be applied to almost any car.
VEHICLE:
-------
Change to Widebody - Yes, widebody kits look amazing. I think the Feltzer has one by default.
WHEELS:
-------
Rims (80+ to choose from) - We have a high selection of rims already, any more is pointless. Yeah, but how many of the rims in LSC do you think is really cool? ;)
South Central Rims (15+ to choose from) - ??? Don't even know what they are, but adding more rims would be silly (Lowrider/Cruiser/muscle rims)
Rims Materials/paint (Spoke A, Spoke B and Lip can be painted in Colour, brushed or chrome finish.) - Yes, just being able to customise the current rims would be enough to satisfy almost everyone, they wouldn't need to add any more rims if they just brought in this feature. (id be happy with the chrome option on all rims LSC offers..)
Change Rims Size on front/back rims - I think this is a pointless option BUT I'd like it to be in game, some rims look good but are tiny. Pointless??Either you are a tunerfreak, or you just having no taste when it comes to badass american muscles ;) Imagine a sabre with 18" in front and 20" dragslicks and the back lifted up a little, ;) if you have MCLA try it out, it actually makes a BIG difference visually:)
Change Tire Profile - Pointless in a GTA game. (Yeah)
Change Tire Width - Again pointless and not needed . (Yeah)
Change Ride Heigth - We have this already, not much more they can do. (Yes there is. Gta5 Lowriders aint real lowriders. too high, exept Voodoo maybe)
Hydraulics/Airbags - I'd like this feature to come back, but only on the low-riders or select cars. (Agree on that, Only Classics, lowriders and maybe some SUV/Vans)
-
TIRES:
10 different designs to choose from - Completely useless in GTA. (We have some already, but we one got one to choose from per class) ididnt mean the pattern in the tires, but the side)
Change tyre colour - Decided to add this feature to the list myself as it wasn't here, but being able to change the tyre colour would be nice to have. (Ratloader - White Tires)
BRAKES:
4 Different Designs/manufacturer - Again pointless, what we have is simple and good enough. (Agree, not easy spot the brakecalippers behind LSC rims)
COLOURS:
--------
Change Interior Neon - Neons would be brilliant in-game. (These 3 should only be applied to convertibles)
Change Gauge Colours - Pointless, we rarely ever see the dash.
Change Interior Colours - Yes, I'm all for this, some cars have a default colour interior and it clashes with paint jobs.
INTERIOR:
---------
Change Steering Wheels - Rarely see the interior or dash, so pointless. (Again, these 3 should only be applied to convertibles)
Change Gauges - Again, pointless.
Change Front Seats - Don't really need to change the seats, would be remedied by being able to change interior colour.
EXTRAS:
----------
Change Neon Underglow (Different Colours) - Neons = awesome. Everyone knows this.
Change Window Tint (Different Colours) - Yes different colour windows would be nice to have in-game.

VINYL EDITOR:
----------
Lotsa Different Layers - Yes a simple editor would be nice, like the one on the Social Club. It's good enough for complex design too. I NEED FLAMES on my Tornado ^^
What it all boils down to though is, Rockstar don't want to be able to make an exact copy of real cars. Nope, dont think Ford, Chevy or Dodge or any other carmanufacturer would be very pleased with mills of kids on a killspree driving with their originale brands...Great reputation ahead.. "Kid kills 4 in a headon crash with a ford explorer in videogame, Ford has had a press conference where they claim the car has been worked on by amateurs. Those damn immigrants cannot even tighten the wheelnuts.. :p

the problem is loads of people glitched and exploited (not me) to the point where they have money to afford everything, no reason to continue playing in order to unlock things or earn money to afford new things.

I feel sorry for you all as I have a reason to continue playing.

Exactly, it's like being a kid at Christmas. One year I went into my mom's room and found all my presents under her bed, sitting there waiting to be wrapped. Then when it came to the 25th, it sucked because I knew what all the stuff under the tree was. So I never went present-hunting again, I waited till the big day and the gifts felt so much sweeter.

that's why people who win the lottery tend to become unhappy - it's strange because everyone wants more money so they can afford nice things and not have to work - then the moment comes when you can buy everything and then nothing makes you happy anymore

The game in general could have been so much better. I just bought myself a nice big samsung smart TV and GTA looks like trash on it.

Instead of making such a massive world that likely no one cares much to explore, they could have compressed the map, made the game in 1080p resolution, and fixed all the jagged f*cking edges on everything that give some of us a headache and make the game a plain eyesore. It would be different if more than 10% of the map actually had usefulness. I would have rather seen San Fiero and Las Venturas than a whole bunch of hills with copy-pasted "grass" textures.

We're in 2013, I think we need to get with the fact that games need to have at least some anti-aliasing. GTA IV looked better graphically than this game.

That was a TERRIBLE analogy...

I never understood this argument for several reasons...

1. Are you grinding missions because you want to enjoy the things the money can buy? Or do you enjoy the missions themself? If the former then glitching money would make you feel no different. If the latter, then having money wouldn't interfere in anyway.

2. Glitching doesn't take the fun out in anyway. The only way it possibly detracts is to those who enjoy the struggle of getting nice things. But in GTAO it doesn't really make sense to me, considering the same things people are breaking their backs to earn online are the same things we've already experienced and have in single player... There's no mystery behind the nice things (which is the only correlation I could draw between this and your XMAS analogy).

I think the reason he used the xmas analogy was to show that sometimes it's better to "wait and see" rather than have everything straight away and no reason to wait.

People find things much more rewarding when you have to wait or accomplish something in order to achieve new things. Impatient people on the other hand (glitchers and exploiters) want everything NOW and they unfortunately find themselves bored when they have experienced everything so soon and then have to complain that there's nothing left to do

Don't get me wrong. I completely agree with you on the not taking short cuts statement, but is think you could have used a better analogy... Like:

''Its like wealth and satisfaction - wealthy trust fund babies who inherent wealth from their parents tend not to appreciate or enjoy the things they have in comparison those not as well off who work really hard for things, and thus enjoy and appreciate them more''

I dont know anything about trust funds or anything like that, but I do know that I ruined Christmas that year by looking at my presents. Also, notice the people crying that this game "got boring" are the same people that glitched all their dollars. My analogy stands. If you cheat to get stuff early, you don't enjoy it as much as if you wait and get it legit.

GrandTheftBatman

Are we all pretending that Midnight Club: Los Angeles was a good game? It's the worst of the series. Still, I see the point here. And I didn't expect them to go very deep into the customizations. It would be too time-consuming to put this much work into mods on a non-racing focal game. Then again, within GTA Online it seems that no real, new content has been added so I wouldn't mind some more work in this area.

All I'm saying is, if I got a new game, or a car, or an iPad for christmas and found it a couple days early, I wouldn't be any less excited about my gifts... Lol.

Let's stay on topic though.

You know... I sometimes think they leave certain things people love out of the game on purpose so that they can add it to their next title and always top the last game they did on the series.

I mean.. they've even gone to the trouble of putting rusted / burned out bodywork's of cars in the game... but not made a driveable version lol

Not that I'm knocking them though. This game is mind blowing. We shouldn't take it for granted really.. Will be interesting to see what they can come up with on PS4/One.

Colours on park/lowlights could be cool on them tuners;) - Yes, but it's pointless
:p- But there really isn't much ore you can do with an exhaust, adding more would be pointless
Change License Plates - We got this. Not all Android users Mohahaha there - I was thinking more along the lines of the actual license plate, rather than the ID, but if you're using a phone that isn't running iOS, Android or Windows Phone, then it's probably time to update. (Custom colour plates would be nice though)
SIDE:
-------
Change Sideskirts - We got this, but again we need more variety.
Yeah, but how many of the rims in LSC do you think is really cool? ;) - Most of them I like. Spinner rims would be nice thinking about it, but I'm not bothered, what we have is good enough already.
South Central Rims (15+ to choose from) - ??? Don't even know what they are, but adding more rims would be silly (Lowrider/Cruiser/muscle rims) - There's already a selection, like I said more rims wouldn't be that big of a deal, in my opinion
Pointless??Either you are a tunerfreak, or you just having no taste when it comes to badass american muscles ;) Imagine a sabre with 18" in front and 20" dragslicks and the back lifted up a little, ;) if you have MCLA try it out, it actually makes a BIG difference visually:) - I said I'd like that feature, there's a lot of rims that are small, and could be made bigger (low-riders, muscle) BUT I thinks it's a pointless feature
Change Tire Profile - Pointless in a GTA game. (Yeah)
Change Tire Width - Again pointless and not needed . (Yeah)
Change Ride Heigth - We have this already, not much more they can do. (Yes there is. Gta5 Lowriders aint real lowriders. too high, exept Voodoo maybe) - There's not much lower a car can get without looking ridiculous, the lowering options we have are good enough
Hydraulics/Airbags - I'd like this feature to come back, but only on the low-riders or select cars. (Agree on that, Only Classics, lowriders and maybe some SUV/Vans)
-
TIRES:
10 different designs to choose from - Completely useless in GTA. (We have some already, but we one got one to choose from per class) ididnt mean the pattern in the tires, but the side)- I know what you meant, but it's pointless
Change tyre colour - Decided to add this feature to the list myself as it wasn't here, but being able to change the tyre colour would be nice to have. (Ratloader - White Tires)- Yes, but I'd like any colour, on any car
BRAKES:
4 Different Designs/manufacturer - Again pointless, what we have is simple and good enough. (Agree, not easy spot the brakecalippers behind LSC rims)
COLOURS:
--------
Change Interior Neon - Neons would be brilliant in-game. (These 3 should only be applied to convertibles) - Disagree with that, all cars should be able to nterior neons, would look awesome to see your windows lit up inside
(Again, these 3 should only be applied to convertibles) - It's completely unnecessary in GTA though, fair enough if this was Need For Speed or a car modding game, dashboards have such low textures, it would be pointless

:p- Yeah I get what you're saying, but what I meant was, was that Rockstar don't want US to be able to mod the current cars in-game to look like exact copies of real-life cars. That's why we have a limited selection of mods and why we won't get a vinyl editor, they won't want us to slap real logos onto the cars

You've made this post confusing now haha, but I'll post in blue

Gotta smile a little. 50% of what an :panic:acidtrip :panic: this post has grown into, and the 50% is you ;) You are positive to interior mods/colours in cars incl with roofs thats hard to see in, and most of the time "pointless" is used, you are totally not paying attention to unessecary, but eyecatchin details (if used right). ^^ hehe
