Will the PC Version beat the console version? (SPOILERS MAYBE)

Now I know about all the modding, but yes that is what I'm afraid of. With what computers can do these days, the PC can far out beat the consoles in gameplay, graphics and the like. Things such as modding in single player heists, vehicles that have since been forgotten (like the annihilator and jetpack), odd jobs from GTA 3 Universe, ENB Series (This is inevitable however as it is tradition) map mods maybe like San Fierro and Las Ventaurus, the old GTA 3 weapons and the list goes on and on.

Idk, the PC just seems like it has too many opportunities to ruin the game for us console players, and it may seem like it may just be an entirely different game. I may be overreacting and if I am then sorry, but this game was built around everything that would be modded onto the PC.

This Idea is unconfirmed as PC has not yet been announced

*sigh* ... seems kids christmas vacation have started...

Bad news GTAF!!

Would have thought you would have thought up on this more.

As I said this is tradition for the PC, but what I have stated is what everyone believed that GTA V would be like in the first place, except for ENB series and the like.

What does modding on PC have to do with console players?

jealousy

Ain't just jealousy it is also the fact that we thought GTA V would be like this

Sorry meant to put that in two seperate posts

Hold on. what?

PC is the big daddy. Consoles are nothing to compare. Anyways, PC game will be much better and modding it is not the right thing to discuss about esp. when it's not out yet!

I don't think that you got what I mean.

All of these things that CAN BE Modded were actually meant to be included in the console game, I will NEVER SAY THAT PC IS WORSE THAN CONSOLE OR THAT CONSOLE IS BEING LEFT OUT WITH MODS.

Got it now, the PC will just come out with the proper game that we were expecting and that is what I'm afraid of

This is all very clearly Rockstar's fault.

Them releasing the game on current-gen (I guess It's last-gen now) served no purpose but to use the 360 and PS3 as a beta test. And, more importantly, a money machine. 1 billion dollars in 3 days and all that.

They COULD'VE waited for next-gen and they COULD'VE optimized it even more, but they didn't. And I know they said why they didn't, but I bet It's a bullsh*t reason. Because we all know they just didn't want to miss out on the money.

The 360/PS3 release actually would've been acceptable if they released the real, final and better version of the game alongside with it. Be it PC or XB1/PS4, at least it would've allowed for comparison videos people could look at and go; "Maybe I shouldn't buy it on my 360 because the framerate looks so abysmal. I'll wait for the Xbox One".

Many current + next-gen games did this, side-by-side comparisons. And I believe it helped quite a few people decide. In most cases, the difference was minimal.

Not Rockstar, though. They just wanted to have the money and then stay silent as they seemingly attempt to milk the last bit of the Xbox and Playstation glory before moving onto the PC and next/current generation consoles.

So, yes. The PS3 and 360 versions will be downright insignificant when a PC/next-gen release is made. I believe it is perfectly fine to be upset at Rockstar for giving you the more unfinished version of the game just so they could hug the money faster.

@armyraidfail404

.. ok .. I got it.

You are quite true. All this time I an shouting this same damn thing.

What we have now on consoles is still very restricted in terms if access to features or improvements clearly seen in data files or contents cut out in final release.

Now it's not guaranteed that PC will see a big change. It could be but for now it can easily bring most exciting features back, improve on some unfinished stuff and give us a better game.

Sadly, that's supposed to be not a great deal for console players who wanted these most as well.

True, the bullcrap reason of getting used to the hardware when they have used the damn thing since IV, seriously 5 years and we get 1.5 years work. Also the next gen in my eyes ain't too different, just having a newer set of processors that are more better than the last set, which could run at double the rate that they were running when playing IV and V.

GTA was originally a DOS game. So its origin is the PC. Are you saying it's unfair for us PC players to mod the game because console players will feel limited? Is this supposed to be a joke or what? It's your own problem if you feel limited. How do you think us single player gamers feel? The online gamers get more content and bug fixes, while we get nothing, no bug fixes at all. The PC version shows what GTA can do, no amount of unfairness to console gamers will stop that. This game lasted because of mods, and because of its single player content, but the latter has been pushed aside in favour of multiplayer, so modding is all we have left to ensure the series doesn't end.

Blame Rockstar for putting barely any effort into GTA V, and only caring about online. It'd be best if you got a PC and waited for the PC version of the game, it's better than playing it on outdated, annoying consoles with bugs and massive technical limitations. Not that I have anything against consoles, but I don't like playing on them, in fact, I can barely play the game because of the pathetic wireless controller the Xbox 360 has, you can't press a button as it turns off...

you also didnt mention 2 more things that will be in the PC version of V :

* enhanced multiplayer supporting more players probably 32 players atleast.

* and the ability to use Oculus Rift and play GTA V PC version using it via a mod which someone will most likely will make in the future after itll get released (or using 3d drivers like vorpx or virieo perception) .

edit : OP you can just consider buying a decent PC..then ull have a blast playing it on ur own PC with all these great PC only features..

There's two consoles to play GTA V on, so that's double the community PC has already. Of course it will beat it more on sales, but the other stuff the PC will probably beat it because with the PC you can manipulate the game to how ever you want, making it repeatability totally endless. PS3/Xbox can only go so far as completing the game over and over.

I'm surprised how no one noticed the OP writing "Las Ventaurus".

Lost my sh*t.

I love the Ventaurus almost as much as the Dilophosaurus.

Guys don't ever run a business because it will fail. Rockstar released these games on PS3 and 360 because of the install base. If they were going to release it on PS4 and Xbone and hope to make a solid profit they'd have to wait awhile so they could actually sell enough copies for a profit. What is there like 5 million total in the world sold of both the new consoles? Now let me take another multi-week hiatus from this autistic post filled forum.

Fantastic job pointing out the established obvious. Something I pointed out myself already;

Them releasing the game on current-gen (I guess It's last-gen now) served no purpose but to use the 360 and PS3 as a beta test. And, more importantly, a money machine. 1 billion dollars in 3 days and all that.

They SHOULD'VE waited for the PS4 and Xbox One to settle in. That's my point. It would've been a longer wait, but it would be a beneficial one from a technical standpoint.

People look at things from this fixated "business" point of view way too much. There are other types of profits aside from money. Like, y'know, not f*cking over your fanbase by purposely releasing an inferior version for money, and instead profit with the notion of releasing it on next-gen and making people think; "Wow, it's a good thing they waited for next-gen. The game looks and performs amazing".

Oh and, what a surprise, you think the term "autism" is some kind of an insult or degrading term. It isn't. You're a fool.

Take care.

GTA 5 started actual development in 2009 or 2010. Next-gen consoles weren't a thing yet. You want them to rewrite the WHOLE game, costing them millions upon millions of dollars, JUST to release it for a platform where they would sell absolutely NOTHING?

Remember, by the time both next-gen consoles were announced, GTA 5 was supposed to be released.

GTA V on PC will bring much more content than the console ever will. Not saying console is bad, just saying that GTA 5 will last a lifetime if its on PC.

Rockstar would be dumb not to...
