[SA] Mobile to PC research project

I'm asking myself why R* made those weights on golden color...

And suddenly they got normal chrome color. Did R* became mature? The golden ones looks so weird and all the attention goes to them.

 

I also do not understand why. but the curious and I do not understand is that these textures used for the weights

They even changed very very simple things you wouild never have seen them??? God, what the f*ck is it with R*, man.

Golden weights in a gym... I imagine CJ would steal them lol.

Replace the textures with this and it looks really bad there to edit the texture with 3d model in 3ds max.

It seems rockstar has changed the dff model for the weight as well, not only the texture file.

As I said, it was buggy.

Use the lensflare mod that has been configured to look like the PS2 lensflare. And the sunlight script by DK.

 

Looks better, and is definately more stable.

 

May you tell me where I can find it, please? I have never heard of this particular lens flare being configured to look like the PS2 one.

Secondly I have one probably very stupid and annoying question to you guys. How to install those featrues? Please paste some links with guides how to mod GTA.

You have to have something like : txd workshop or img tool.

Then just download files and extract,and replace them with the same one on gta3.img

If anyone could extract the road textures, that'd be brilliant. I ask this because all of the roads are slightly better quality and as a bonus they're all mipmapped (roads without mipmaps look like crap IMO). So, if someone could do this I'd be really grateful.

Depends. As far as I working on textures, there are some hi res assets from mobile to be discovered, but it's a very tedious job to do.

 

And there's the coding stuff, like the new menus, DFF's, and the colorcycle.dat which I REALLY WANTED TO SEE on PC. But I don't have such knownledge about these things, and other experienced modders didn't showed much interest about it.

Manually. You need to know which texture goes on which txd. Mobile doesn't have txd's, all these textures were extracted from one big archive, like if it was a big one txd, but technically, not a txd.

Very nice, . Basically, did you extend CRealTimeShadowManager::DoShadowThisFrame (0x00706BA0) and/or CRealTimeShadowManager::Update (0x00706AB0) or simply modify CShadows::StoreShadowForVehicle (0x0070BDA0) to apply real time shadows onto vehicles too? However, there are lots more entries of g_realTimeShadowMan (0x00C40350) in the mobile version (notice how the variable denomination hasn't been changed despite its extended usage).

and actually, mobile only have shadows on peds and vehicles, but I guess this could be editable somehow
