GTA San Andreas Mobile Modding

Most things can be edited. And only if you have a jailbroken iPhone.

 

Things such as script changes can be difficult as files such as main.scm have been edited for the mobile version (eg. Mission checkpoint, replay)

 

 

@Ash, no doubt, their work was lazy. But the point I was making is that it'll be time consuming to replace those mobile audio files with the PS2 files. Too much work for a little reward.

If you want to sort it yourself, then godspeed.

actually i've finished with compression/decompression functions. all working fine, but i have no iOS device to test it.

It should be possible, but I can't check it myself. I'll beat San Andreas storyline before Android release, I'm sure I'll do it.

Has anybody else had issues with radio stations not playing music, and only adverts?

Bounce FM seems to be fine if I go to audio settings before loading a game, but after I load a game it only plays commercials, and has a pause between them where it seems music should go.

 

Bounce FM is in DS.osw, is there a possible way for a fix, depending on what causes it (my guess is the savegame)?

That dosnt add the dynamic vehicle shadows, still only cj has a shadow. It just ups the resolution and adds vehicle reflections.

 

Maybe the settings for the dynamic shadows arnt in the gta_sa.set file?

 

Also what is (gtasatelem.set) for? Could you upload your ipad air file please

gtasatelem.set dosnt seem to change anything,

San Andreas Save Modding for iOS

03stevensmi uploaded an iOS save for San Andreas in this topic and took a quick look at the file structure. Here are a few notes.

The new saves for SA iOS have largely the same structure. The file is unencrypted and appears to contain only and all of the same blocks as before. However, much of the data records and values are preceded by (tagged with - depending on how you look at it) an additional word, DE C0 (0x0CDE). Few of the offsets used for PC and PS2 will match those for iOS, but it should be possible to tease out most of the information needed to map the new offsets.

Additional notes:

Block 0: Miscellaneous

0x0000 F6 8D 14 FD - File ID is same as for version 2 and 3.
0x0004 char[200(?)] - Last mission GXT string separated by 00 (49 00 4E 00 54 00 52 00 4F 00 5F 00 31 for INTRO_1).

Block 21: IPL

This structure is now cluttered with DE C0 separating each of the byte flags, but if those are ignored then the flags of this Big Smoke save seem to be the same as for v1. These offsets are predicted.

* GTASAsf10.b is nearly twice the size at 444KB, 455,000 bytes. I don't know what the save slot options are for iOS so I'm not sure what to make of this file.

Handles telemetry. Likely tracking things like crashes or errors and then gets submitted to Rockstar.

 

I'm wondering what stores Social Club logins. Might be one of the two set files? Wish the Android version was out.
