From what I've heard of Star Citizen, the whole point is to kind of be a very impressive and large-scale PC master-race game. They would probably have a hard time optimizing it for consoles.

Yeah I get it, though the game is supposed to be out in 2017. Who knows I might just have to get a gaming PC for this game alone lol. I'll be the guy that will walk in a PC store with the Star Citizen disc in my hands (or is it only available through steam? Don't even know how that works) and say ''HEY! Take this game, I want a PC that will play this well!'' haha.

.

Building a PC isn't hard. We have a guide for it all ready. It's not expensive either. That's a myth. BUT! I want to get a PS4 to play the PS4 exclusives. :p That'll be pretty expensive though. I have money saved but I don't want to touch it. Can you buy ps3 games on PSN?

Don't forget sites like Humble Bundle and groupees.com. You can get games for dirt cheap on PC.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm currently in france (looking to move out this year if possible) and whenever I buy anything with a keyboard I usually buy it through a UK website as I am literally allergic to the layout.... Ctrl, . for a period? yeah, no thanks. This country is not very tech savvy either, and the internet is slow too, almost an afterthought to its' infrastructure.

If I get into PC building, it surely will not be in this country.

Chewie, regarding being able to play ps3 games on the ps4 well it is and isn't possible. The ps4 does not, and as far as I know, will never be backwards compatible. However, there is this thing called PlayStation Now where you have to pay a monthly fee of 20 bucks a month to have a whole library of PS3 games available to play on the PS4. I get having to pay PSN 50 a year to play online etc, but 20 a month to play last gen games is a massive ripoff in my opinion.

------------------------------------------------

In other news: No Man's Sky may very well be coming to XB1 disregarding their ludicrous ''first or equal rights'' policy.

Apparently the Sony timed exclusive lasts 12 months.

That's good news but Microsoft should just do away with the stupid policy.

That's too bad that you can't play PS3 games on the PS4 right off the bat. I wanted to play all of the God Of War games too and other games. I wouldn't want to spend $20 to play a selection of PS3 games. That does sound like a rip off. Sony should just make the PS4 backwards compatible like the Xbox One is. There aren't so many exclusives on the Xbox One though. I spent around $150/137 Euros on around 60 games on Steam 2 and a half years ago.

OT: They shouldn't make games timed exclusive. They should all come out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC at the same time. That's lame.

Got a pretty good video here that goes into more details of what to expect game play side of things.

This game seems very good. Not trying to get my hopes up but it better have as good story as the graphics are

I don't think there is a traditional story. Its more of you make your own story kind of game.

I was kind of hyped for this game, but now sadly disappointed as it looks like there will be no multiplayer. I hoped we'd be able to group with a friend and search around the galaxy, but the Steam tags only indicate Singleplayer as well as a very broad statement about the lack of traditional multiplayer.

Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Just the same as saying we live in the same city of Los Santos in GTA V singleplayer, looks like the only "multiplayer" part of this game will be a silly map where people can name a planet. See the results of their actions? So not actually see them. $80AUD for a random generation simulator game, I'll pass this time.

Well I believe that the devs said you can meet other people it's just that it's highly unlikely. I hope they implement something where you can meet up with friends but that doesn't seem to be the case. Either way I'm still hyped about this game.

I think they did at one point, but my point is that there is no multiplayer tag on the Steam page. If there is a way to meet friends, saying it's highly likely is an understatement. There are ~2,635,249,153 planets for people to explore exclusively if all 7 billion people alive on Earth could do so. If they don't make an easy way to find your friends it will be almost impossible to ever find anyone ever.

I actually think that's a pretty interesting way to go about it. It'll be a holy sh*t moment if anyone ever does come across a player.

And I'm not sure how the map works, but couldn't people try to locate each other on Internet communities and try to find people who are "close" to them?

kek. Looks like the PS4 version of this game has been delayed till August 9th because of performance issues, PC version still on track for release on 21st June until otherwise stated. Looks like the good old PS4 is still struggling to keep up with new games, an originally PS4 exclusive will now be a PC exclusive for a few weeks :p

I assume the PC version will be delayed also to line up with the ps4 release but hoping it doesn't! One thing I noticed was that of the steam store page it lists it as single player so I'm wondering if there's even a multilayer component at all?

That's one thing we noticed on the Steam discussions, and also all the trailers/dev vlogs mention nothing about how the multiplayer is actually going to work other than being able to see what other players name their findings. The game is shaping up to be a shallow, walking simulator type game. The core game-play is exploring the randomly generated planets which will probably end up being very similar after you've been to a dozen or so, unless they are keeping secrets from us, this is why I haven't pre-ordered.

The devs said that the game does sort of have multiplayer, but the universe being so large, it's extremely unlikely to actually run into anyone. People will probably try to get together anyway though.

From what I've read they've always been a bit shifty about the multilayer component whenever asked. And from what I remember the systems will get more diverse and different the further you venture into the center of the galaxy.

Doesn't the game get released this month? I haven't been keeping up with it for quite awhile and I haven't gone and read all of the other pages yet.

Star Fox 64, holy sh*t does that bring back memories... "playing with a lightbulb, salt and..." and staying up ALL night pretending I'm in Independence Day.

Oy... triggered, Diablo, I'm triggered.

Cannot bloody wait for this so close but yet so far! Who else is getting slightly pumped? Looks like they've put some extra shine on it since the delay.
