What people are calling the 1.06 patch

I've seen signatures that read

"we are all deeply saddened by our tragic losses of the Mass Vehicle Genocide of 1.06"

 

I have to admit I lol'd when I first read it..

 

Seriously though, it was fun with the cop cars in garages but it was an unfair exploit, you guys need to grow up and play the game how it was intended.

This. I'm convinced that this vehicle alone is responsible for not being able to store emergency vehicles. Rightfully so, too.

Yeah riot van was the only unfair advantage. (Though it wouldn't technically be unfair if everybody could have them, it would still suck though, then you would HAVE TO drive one unless you want to be a sitting duck)

 

No advantage to having the other emergency vehicles.

It's marketing 101, the only reason for them to get rid of all the emergency vehicles in the way they did, is so they can release a "Emergency Vehicle DLC" in the future... Think about it, how many of you would pay (speculatively) say 5$ to be able to unlock and store any emergency vehicle you like?

 

It's so transparent what they doing it's laughable!

My crew members and I agreed on this almost immediately upon logging in after 1.06.

 

Someone at R* recognized the unforeseen demand for emergency vehicles and, therefore, a potential market to be catered to at a later time.

 

The surest way to create further demand is to take something away from players, tell them they can't have it, then only allow it to be available via RMT.

 

If 1.06 had actually been about balancing out the game and removing OP vehicles, we wouldn't have tanks or buzzards anymore.

Guys please cut him some slack - he has a very valid point. It *was* unfair for people to have emergency service vehicles in the garages, and you're a bit slow if you need it explaining to you, but I will anyway.... sigh.

 

If you've got a cop car in your garage and some NPC gets mugged down the street then that's one less cop car to chase down the thief and beat him on camera. What if there's an apartment fire somewhere and you're just sat in a fire engine in your garage, dancing and saying "LOL"? And ambulances..... don't even get me started.

 

I even heard of this one sick guy who had a lifeguard truck. I mean come on. Jaws would have a f*cking field day with the poor people on the beach, and it's no laughing matter. The lifeguard isn't stood there punning "I need a bigger boat". No. He's thinking, "Where's my f*cking truck? How can I save lives without it?"

im gonna overlook the sarcasm (which i love by the way, best post ive read so far today) but it got me thinking, is there a limit on the number of emergency vehicles that can spawn in LS at any given time?? n if so would garage vehicles depreciate the total number of NPC cop cars that could spawn.... I imagine the garage is a seperate thing to the main world (cut scene) buuuuuut, if 16 people all had 10 cop cars each, thats 160 cars that effectively need to be on standby, just in case you go into your garage to fetch one.... wonder if it reduced the number of NPC spawned cops...

the only unfair part of cop cars where that people didn't realise they were pvs and got bad sport warnings for blowing them up.. however, no one ever blew mine up. I hope rockstar do release a dlc but they will probably be unlocked garage items such as strobes and siren that can be attached to certain vehicles, otherwise people still won't know if it's a pv or stolen police car and if it's fair game..

 

the nail in the coffin were the insured tanks, jets and buzzards (plus tow truck griefers) as it allowed someone to effectively kill anything they liked and if they got destroyed there were whacking huge insurance costs. something had to be done.. the emergency vehicles were all $0 insurance btw..

For me it is the "Your racing doesn't earn you sh*t anymore"-patch, as it removed any reward from my favorite activity.

 

I don't care about people having tanks, riot vans or buzzards as PV. I either go kill someone else or get killed a couple of times. I also don't get how people can be so upset to get killed in this game where it just doesn't matter.

The problem was in the end the glitch wasn't hard enough to do and it didn't weed out the scrubs from the better players. Just too many people were doing it and lighting up the support with crap like 'paying 25k for shooting someones buzzard down I'M BROKE NOW and returning the game' etc etc

the normal cop cars weren't really a problem

the swat truck or whatever was with it's bulletproof everything

as were the PV tanks and Buzzards, that sh*t was just lame
