El Dildo
I'm surprised that he held out as long as he did. Mandela was very sick for most of 2013. it's amazing he made it to 95. for awhile there I was convinced that he had already died, but the family was just too afraid to announce it and/or unsure of how to handle the fallout (both politically and privately). RIP Nelson.

Creed Bratton
I don't understand this shock that people seem to be in. He was 95 and he died peacefully of old age. It's not like he had a life ahead of him and a glorious future. He's done his part a long time ago. I respect him enough to honestly say that I really don't care that he died. I'm not trying to be an asshole. He was an old man. There's nothing shocking or sad about a 95 year old passing away regardless of who it is. And you know that so just stop with the crocodile tears. T0X1C
To be honest, I don't know what to think about all this. I respect Mandela's fight for equality and wouldn't label him as a "terrorist" as such. However, I simply don't believe that South Africa has been a better place in recent years. I mean, the place has a sky-high violent crime with a huge media silence about innocent farmers getting murdered, sometimes tortured before death. It's horrific, and while it is great to honor Mandela's legacy, stuff like this needs to be addressed. Take it from a South African that all of that is true, but is down to a variety of factors that cannot be linked to Mandela in anyway. Sky-high crime rate is the result of apartheid, full stop. It created such a separation between rich and poor, this will always lead to crime. Mandela succeeded in playing an integral role in destroying apartheid but simply could not do anything about the damage that years under an oppressive system caused. The fact that he almost single handedly prevented an inevitable civil war is incredible in itself. Pretty much every leader after him has done nothing, the crime rate is as bad as ever because they're all f*cking useless. The media blackout can be blamed on them too. That being said, to say that it was better under legalised racism is ludicrous. As bad as it is, it's much, much better. Basically: Mandela = brilliant, amazing, legendary South African government = sh*t Gtaghost22 and Cherokee3

FAH-Q
So for some of the younger members here...remember this day because at some point in the future you will feel great pride when you tell your children or grandchildren that you lived at the same time Mandela did. I understand all that, but I still can't be sad about the death of a 95 year old. When young people die I get sad sometimes because of what they could have accomplished and how they could have made the world a better place. Mandela already made the world a better place, but that was a long time ago. There was nothing else he could do other than die of old age. Which he did. That's really all there is to this event. People should celebrate his life instead of mourning his death.

I<3GTAV
I saw a picture on here of Morgan Freeman, and it reminded me of Nelson Mandela. So I googled him really quick to see how he was doing, and there was one story saying that he was on his deathbed. I woke up from a nap, and he's gone. However, it seems like hell for whites these days. I've read stories about white farmers getting murdered, corrupt leaders singing "kill the boer!" at conventions, hence the site being on Genocide Watch for the past decade or so. http://www.genocidewatch.org/southafrica.html I'm not trying to fuel hatred or race wars here, I'm just trying to raise awareness of this.
