its like their everywhere ! i cant join a game without comin across a lvl120 or more that is just out there to kill you in his tank and yes i know tanks can be killed with grenades and stuff and i wouldnt mind if it happenes only a few times a day but it likes they are everywhere just waitin to finding new players to kill these people are ruining gta online! why hasnt rockstar even done anything about it badsport obviously doesnt work since they are still at it blowing people in their car and not caring about the fines anyway

i've tried going passive and escaping. even switching session but within 15minutes of the new session another troll glitchin griefer is there with his tank.

 

so yeah i dont mind player killing and battling it out but these kids just roll in their tanks versus guys that still only have the pistol, shotgun and grendaes...were not even a challenge.

 

I would just change sessio before but now its worse than ever! are we just supposed to play the game in passive in fear of the next comin tank? or checking the playwrs list every 5 minutes to see when the next wannabee badass comes along ?

What has this got to do with glitching? If they're ranked over 70 then they can buy a tank (obviously assuming they have the cash, which would be *easy* to build up by the time you get to 70, especially after the $500K stimulus package.)

 

Just leave the session. There are many, many, many, many sessions out there and a very small number of them have tanks for brief periods of time. They don't last long. Just dry your eyes and go explore a different part of the map.

 

Incidentally, if you don't want to dry your eyes you can always try the best drink in the world...

normally i used to say the same thing : just change session, find one thats without the nutters but since a couple of weeks they are everywhere

 

i dont even want the tanks to be removed from the game or crazy sh*t like that but there needs to be more penalties for em or something because if it was just a few blown up cars, sure, why do i care but when its a guy that can happily camp los santos custom for 2 hours blowing up over 20 or 30 vehicles (pretty sure most of them were owned because they all looked pimped out) and still stand there laughing at you...it has got to be a glitcher. Cant understand how a legit player, even over lvl120 would be happy loosing hundreds of thousands of dollars on nothing even if he could afford it.

 

so yeah, then you switch session and find another guy like that. yay...lets repeat the cycle -> leave session -> find new tank asshole ->leave session -> find new tank asshole -> leave seassion...etc..

You must just be being very unlucky mate. I see them maybe 4 or 5 times a week, and I play every day. I play a LOT (outside work hours).

 

Like I said, they don't last long. Some people love chasing down tanks so I just leave them to it and go do something else. I only ever tend to leave a session if it's someone who calls in tank after tank after tank, or if it's a couple that have tanks (yes, I'm suggesting that they're boyfriends - I know - how immature).

I don't see tanks everywhere in Freeroam... sometimes and when I do it is usually a level lower then 120.

im lvl 36 so yeah i dont have the airstrike, heavy sniper, rpg, grenade launcher or mugger. and since the lastest patches, making money is even harder. I know im not losing any money when they blow my car up but it works like a giant f*ck u, like saying "i dont even give a sh*t about money, just want to wreck your day again and again and again and again..."

 

and i have said i have tried passive and changing session or using the radar to lose them. i do that. but then the cycle repeats again in the next session. not always obviously but pretty much a session out of 2 yes.

 

i've only got 32k in the bank, constantly losing money on ammo, hospital bills, passive mode (yes we noobs find passive mod expensive when we are getting griefed : need 100 on your person for going passive as well as another 500 for the hospital bill since if you only carry 100 on yourself it gets eaten up by the bill too...so that $600 right there just to escape once). if you make the mistake to have no money or just lost yours after escaping and changing session after 10 minutes...bam you pay it again !!!), etc...

 

like i said i dont even want tanks gone, but if you gonna go around blowing sh*t up anf just griefing then there needs to be penalties like raising the insurance bills so they stop doing it all the time

 

and i assume most of them are glitchers since they dont seem to mind losing about 200k an hour just blowing other peoples cars.

HandyTNT, do you have friends you can play with? Not being an ass (for once), but you can hit that "Join Friends" option when you're logging into Online. Maybe if you were in a friends session, or hell even a crew session you wouldn't have problems? Just a suggestion.

Are there any crews that promote no tank use? If so, joining one of them and then joining crew only sessions would solve the problem. Obviously you'd want it to be a large crew or you'd be on your own a lot of the time. Just a thought.

sadly im on 360 ill keep playing and hopefully that tank phase will just come to its own end eventually (or at least back to whatever it was like before a few weeks ago) or maybe my and my friends really are that unlucky (we tend to play in the evening together...we're all lowbies haha )

 

i just really dont want to start having to play in invite only sessions because of these tank jerks because i love having chases and gunfights with other randoms. I wont even care if you are lvl200 and killing all of my friends with the minigun...at least it's balanced in its own way.

 

i should stop ranting haha before people think i hate all tanks...i really dont. i dont even mind the occasional tank troll...as long as they are occasional. thx for the tip though, i'll keep persevering anyway

Well your lvl 36 with only 32k in the bank something is wrong.

 

Fist what are you spending all your time in freemode for? you need to be doing jobs and lvling up and getting money. at 36 you can do Coveted mission and get 12k cash and 2k rp every 5 minutes or less and just repeat. no reason to be broke in this game you can sell one car every 45 min and gain 9k

Switch session when it happens if you don't like it.

I don't like it either, but you have to understand that this is GTA and different people enjoy different things.

 

If I get shot/destroyed, I either pick up the fight and have some fun OR go do a job OR switch free roam to find a more relaxed lobby. Someone killing me does not ruin the game - it is part of the game.

 

The bad sport system lets people have a bit of crazy havoc in free roam, but prevents them from doing it ALL the damn time. It's quite fair.

 

Edit: I also wanted to add, since Oct 2, I've only switched sessions to find a different type of player a handful of times at most. 99% of the time you just avoid them and you're fine. If it's a real problem for you, use a solo or invite only lobby, but in my experience it's not really a drama. I agree with your points about cash however, the economy has been thrashed down, this is because you're supposed to go to the game store and buy GTA dollars. Who remembers when Violent Duct paid $9K?

Tanks are easy to avoid. Listen for the tell tale thunder of its cannon and watch out for slow moving white dots.

 

I had a tank guy show up last night and start spawn killing. He apparently didn't realize he was the odd man out in a session of friends and crew members. Four of us brought our own tanks out to play with.

 

This isn't about glitchers, though. Op, you wrote about having your car destroyed by a player who didn't care about the cost but would you rather that person was broke and you paid your own insurance? If anything you actually want tank pilots to have a lot of money for that reason.

While your case is unfortunate, there are players that are playing since day 1 and made money and levels as legit as you can have them - by farming some missions and races. That is not glitching.

 

Griefing is a whole different conversation and I don`t like you too much to know what griefing is, from your OP.

Exactly At lvl 36 I made about two million just playing the damn game. I'm now lvl 68 with 750k in bank working toward 1.5 mill and tank now. BOOO HOOOO HOOOO free roaming whiner OP. Start with a invite only game run around a bit selling cars and robbing, armored cars, Then go to menu and join survivals and live to wave ten. After level 5 it is not hard to avoid being somebodies bitch in this game unless you like it that way.
