So how exactly does it work then? I always thought the sender would always have the advantage. Are there any rewards for it or is it like 1 on 1 where its just like $100?

the sender does set a waypoint / location, aswell as the prizepool.

 

Then an invite is sent out to all players inside his radius.

I've never done an impromptu race because any time I get close enough to another player they're trying to kill me and I don't have time to race them.
