I currently have a Pheonix as my PV, I like it a lot. I wanna mod it but I gotta win some races for its class, which car would you recommend using?

IMO i prefer the gauntlet, a lot, definitely up there as one of if not the best muscle car.

 

and fi you get your own it looks pretty fine too.

mmmm I stole this on my other character and it seemed much better than the Pheonix. If you were to think of a car that is potentially better, what car comes to mind?

only one comes close, Dominator... but i much prefer the look of the Gauntlet and its performance is similar (depending on your driving style, i smoke alot of dominators in my gauntlet)...

 

id probably say to give both of them a drive (use stock version on a race) and see which handles best for your driving style... both are pretty rear end slidey (being muscle cars) and similar performance, so it kinda comes down to personal preference at that point..

 

i wish the sabre was better performance for racing, i love that car, it sounds like a beast, looks awesome and drifts round corners really well... but it just doesn't keep up, shame really (but thats why my character 2 has one in her garage, cos my 1st character has a race optimised garage setup)

X2 on the Gauntlet, I prefer it over the Dominator too. Seems easier to control. I still have my Sabre Turbo it was my first car in the game.

@ Moseph what paint combo is that on your.Gauntlet? Looks Smokin!

Obviously a metallic pearl combo.

I did a black metallic with red pearl over on my Tornado and came out bitchin..

There's endless color combos to play with.

aye that is is, pretty simialr to yours, metallic black wtih a race yellow pearl, the red is a crew coloured secondary (obviously also under the pearl)

 

Ive done a couple of black and red combos aswell so im pretty sure i know the exact colour combo you ahve on yours...

 

agreed on the sabre, its a fine car, just doesnt quite hold up in races so its resigned to my second characters garage, my 1st gets that pretty little beasty up there ^^^

Yeah im actually tossing up on swapping the pheonix with the sabre turbo, these would just be free roam/mission/modding for fun vehicle and the other would, the gauntlet/domin8or would be for races to get more parts.

 

Idk I lobed the Sabre Turbo a lot in Vice City, but I also rarely use the pheonix and would like to show it off...

hard decision as the phoenix si a nice car too, id love to fill a garage with muscles but cant make that compromise lol... my sabre is for cruising only and usually if it rains in freeroam ill go back to my apt and get it out to drift round corners at stupid speeds... training me to get better when im racing as it really gets your corning and gas/brake control sharpened up

It looks great!!! I usually choose the Gauntlet also for Muscle car races.

I haven't driven the Phoenix, so perhaps later today, I will check it out.

The gauntlet and the saber turbo on my opinion. People say it's hard to race with muscle cars? No it's not. You just have to drive them awhile to get a feel for them. The gauntlet handles the best.

true, as always car choice comes down to personal preference and driving style, ruiner is nice but doesnt suit me too much, my choices for racing tend to come down to handling and traction as i tend to throw things into corners quite hard when im "in the zone" then lay off and take it smooth once ive got a comfortable lead

they are fun, takes a bit of getting used to the handling but once you master the muscle youll also be pretty savvy in a sports classic too, so thats handy

I have over 1000 races, and only 15 more losses than wins. I use the ruiner, right now at least. But from my experience, gauntlet is hands down the best for racing.

OP you can unlock car mods by winning races in super cars, it unlocks mods for all of them

 

just assuming you want to unlock mods since you wanted to get some wins for the class

I was going to post that question about supercars unlocking mods for all.

worked perfectly fine for my second character which i only created after 1.06 patch... just hosted customs off races i supers until i hit the 30 wins... all race mods (based on race wins) unlocked... still have a few visuals to unlock based on level though,

Had a Gauntlet, upgraded it, disliked. Too heavy and revvy. Got a Ruiner which I modified to look like Knight Rider, because I'm gay. That's much easier to drive.

I've been considering dropping one of my sports cars for the vigero. Are there a lot of cosmetic mods for it?

man I just love driving my Vigero around town drifting around corners, since it's the closest thing to the General Lee for me (don't ask lol)

I cam't remember what the Vigero is, but I love cars from TV/Movies, so if we can make it look like the General Lee, I might get one...
