I was playing top fun II today with the corvettes, the hunters just waited on foot at the bridge you're meant to get to and nuked us with bombs.

 

This probably a common thing, but I didn't realise it could happen and it's pretty ridiculous.

 

Clearly the bad sport system works.

LOL @ Bad Sport remark. You should read the mission description and understand that they're supposed to kill you.

 

Also, seen this tactic done a few times, all you have to do is scope the place out when you start getting semi-close. Alternatively, get an aircraft and parachute down. Alternatively, use Lester's ability to reveal all players so you can see if they're camping ahead of time.

 

Lots of ways to deal with this situation, and it's a valid tactic. They gamble it all by letting you get within 100 feet of your goal, on the hopes that they can kill you before you can kill them in that final standoff. First one to die loses.

 

Don't blame the other team for not letting you win, that's pretty ridiculous.

but you can't see them on the map (of course they can see you so sniping them first is going to pretty tricky while avoiding the other jets), and once the bombs are down they can stand anywhere they want. like underneath the bridge,

 

it's implied you're meant to use the vehicles. it's supposed to be jets versus cars.

 

I'm not saying it deserves an in-game bad sport punishment, i think the bad sport system is stupid. but it is an unsporting way to play the mission.

 

in my view, the destination should change each game. so the hunters can't just predict where the finish line is going to be.

See my earlier reply. Lester has an ability called "Reveal Players" that will show you where they are on the map.

 

I also wouldn't be surprised if Off The Radar worked for you, giving you the same advantage, but I haven't tried it.

I assumed that's how it worked myself until I played it a couple times. There's no way they didn't anticipate people camping the goal with the way they set it up though.

 

Personally, I think that's an extremely risky tactic on their part. They literally only get one chance to stop you, instead of the 20+ chances they'd get if they just chased you down in the jet. Once you know about this tactic, you have a huge advantage over them. Now you should never be able to lose against anyone who does this.

I don't believe that we've ever been required to use the provided vehicles - for example, in the one where the Runners are in stunt planes, I often see the pilots eject over the freeway and grab a car - seems to work out as often as it doesn't.

 

I see nothing wrong with any of it - it's just lateral thinking as far as I'm concerned.

You don't have to necessarily stay on the exact route that is on the map. You can divert from it to an extent. Do some zig zags along the way.

How many chances do you need, the guy on foot has auto aim, can block the bridge, setup bombs.

Lol I'm aware it's lateral thinking. It's still really cheap and sh*tty way to play the mission.

 

The point of the mission is for it to be a chase, even now that I'm aware there is going to be people waiting there it's still stupid because why the f*ck have I got to drive half the way across the map for something to happen.

 

Also, it's slightly different for the runners changing vehicles since they still have waypoints on them the entire time and it's easier to access the airport in the planes, so it's actually giving yourself a slight disadvantage.

I know, but there's only one small destination and it's on a bridge.
