DaWiesel
Still a great map of course! But it lacks variety and.. isolation in my opinion. Like this: I would have loved to get areas like that back in GTA V, but - like I said - I'm still happy with the game. It's not SA 2.0. That area reminds me of Raton Canyon, which is a lot better to be honest, and doesn't have a road alongside the river. Anyway, people can deny it as much as they want, but at the end draw distance plays a big role and that's just simply a fact, V's map would feel a lot bigger and isolated if it had the draw distance of SA. Unfortunately, foggy weather is very rare in V, and even then the draw distance is still better than in SA, but it's enough to make the Grand Senora Desert feel bigger than it normally is: Raj The Rager, theGTAking101 and Al3x_XXI
Official General
@ DaWiesel No disrespect but none of the above means sh*t. You can analyse and compare the technicalities of draw distance of both games all you want until the cows come home. The bottom line is that SA's map feels bigger and more varied than V's map because SA's map had a better layout and more cities/towns. I don't care how, neither does anybody else, that's all that matters. NumaYay, DIEXEL and Killerman29
Swaggbro
I feel like they need to remove mount gordo (the one near the light house) and put a small town there with a vast forest surrounding it, and the highway. DIEXEL
NumaYay
SA's draw distance is just a lazy argument by those who deny the obvious flaws of GTA V's map. Oh really? Then I suppose I could say that people using GTA V's map layout is such a stupid argument for people who are just trying make San Andreas look better and are trying to make another reason to hate on GTA V more. All while denying that you could get lost quicker in San Andreas if it had a terrible drawn distance. Draw distance does indeed have an influence on the feeling of GTA V's map, but the bigger factor is the map LAYOUT. I've played SA with draw distance mod and yes, you still feel isolated in many places (if you don't overlook the map from high up). The layout is the key factor! Midnight Hitman
Hello. Found this thread while browsing through the V section, and it really nails my feelings regarding the V map. V's map layout is poorly designed IMO and it doesn't allow places like Shady Creeks or Back'o'Beyond to be there. For me it is ridiculous that R* thought that layout would be good. But thats my personal opinion. I just think that V's countryside doesn't feel like a countryside at all. god speed, Official General, billiejoearmstrong8 and 1 other
Adrian J.
I feel like both games have their cool isolated places, and locations filled with "civilization" People claim that desert in SA is big but is it really? There's airfields, military bases and tourist traps everywhere, same for V desert. And GTA V does have nice isolated places, that tunnel that cuts under the mountain just north of the Sawmill, that whole area up there looks spooky. Just behind the observatory, that area is very desolate, an abandoned old barn, old dirt roads. What V has going for it is the animals, and audio production. Wind on hills, sound of trees moving, nature and wildlife noises.
