Why do you let other players negatively impact your gaming experience? Whether it be tanks, spawn killing, passive mode, bounties that hide...etc... Why let them upset you?

Because the game is emotionally evocative. If I didn't get angry when others kill me, where would the heart come from to make me feel victorious when I kill another, or smooth when I win a race?

 

Humans feel stuff.

Sometimes I kill an entire community of Hobos under the bridge with a broken bottle and then go back to my apartment and cry.

I won't get angry to the point of freak-out, except in spontaneous reaction. If I'm getting seriously angry I change rooms. And if there's something happening I don't agree with, like some of the things mentioned by OP, I change rooms with barely an emotional ripple.

It is annoying to be griefed. It is even sometimes annoying to just lose. Even spinning out in a race can be ridiculously annoying, for instance.

 

Definitely agree not to take things too seriously but the GTA: Online game mechanics define how the game can be played. Lots of the mechanics encourage grief, in my opinion.

 

If Rockstar update their systems (such as the universally unpopular Bad Sports mechanic) they might make the players happier and less constantly rattled.

On topic: I laugh it off for the most part. Sometimes I take it "personally "just to "get revenge." All part of the game.

I'm usually the one causing havok. But inevitably sometimes the tables get turned, so it's important to know your own limits. 1vs2 or 3, sure but when it's a 6,7 man crew hunting you down it's time to get the tank to maximize their butthurtness. Or just call it a day if you get cockblocked when getting your tank, buzzard, etc..Sometimes you are gonna be bested no matter what.

 

To answer your question, why people let themselves be butthurt ? Because that's that what butthurts do. They love it !
