I had quit the last eight jobs I been into because the host usually starts the job FAR AWAY from the location. This infuriates me that people don't have the sense to look at the mission picture and go at least somewhere relative to...THERE.

Prime example:

We were doing this job for Ron, Right? I joined the lobby and I found out we were at the docks...And we had to go up to Grapeseed. How's that even-

Please people, Those shiny little numbers after the mission title isn't there to look pretty...It's there to calculate the distance from your location.

What's amazing is when half the people manage to get themselves killed on the way, using up all of the team lives before a bullets been fired. Or the guy who just stands there and when everybody else dies you get to spectate some AFK guy until you have to quit.

I seem to be the only person in the universe who doesn't mind if there is 1-10 miles of distance between the start and the actual Mission...

Oh boo hoo. I start missions near a helipad because my buzzard is usually going with me...what's your psn so if I ever get you in a mission I know to push you out over a mountain?

This happened to me on a mission I'd never seen before or since. I was only levelled somewhere in the 20s and joined a higher level mission where we had to go somewhere, get something, go somewhere else, etc.. Unfortunately, the other 3 players' cars were right next to us, whereas mine was a 30 second run away. I finally got to it and they were all gone - racing for the first waypoint. Before I could get to it they'd finished the objective there and were moving on to the second one. However, it was an underground mission, so without the first waypoint I had no way of knowing where to get underground and get to them.

After they'd all died and I was the only one left I did do myself in, but I really wish I'd just done some shopping, got a haircut, maybe a new tattoo etc..

Either do what the OP says (start missions near THE START OF THE MISSION), or wait till everyone's there before doing it. It's the epitome of the difference between a newb and a noob. You can be level 100 and still be more of a noob than a level 1 player.

I understand the frustration but I don't agree with the execution. Rather then quit, jump into another's ride and let them drive you there no?

Not always possible when 9 out of 10 people drive Supers and there's an odd number of you in the mission. Or they're assholes who just drive off/won't unlock their car.

I always start my missions far away. I enjoy the drive. Im not in a f*ckin hurry. Im not a f*ckin grinder or farmer.

Deal with it or start one yourself.

If you were at the docks, why not call in an airplane and just fly to grapeseed?

Two factors

1. I was saving up for a Car from LGM, So I tried to conserve all the money I could.

2. The AI's derp flying mechanic would've made me go at the distance of a car. ( Atleast to my experience.)

Nope, you're not alone man..lol.

Personally I hate missions that start right at the start point.

Who says you had to be a grinder or a Farmer to start missions near the start location? I don't want to waste my time driving in a highway, Because the host could've conveniently started.

You sound like a asshole who steals a car and text's the player "Get another car, Deal with it."

In this situation, I usually suggest to everyone involved that we commit suicide and replay mission to save the journey. But yeah op, I know what you mean. I actually, make the journey myself and then launch and invite people so they're not cursing me having to travel at top speed to the mission trying to go cross country and every-f*cking-thing smashing and killing everyone and everything in sight in their suped up Adders lol

Joined the mission "A boat in the bay" recently...we spawned at the Airport...

Nah, I don't mind the drive either. It's kind of why I have a car ya know? There's just more tears here than a maternity ward. Any and everything.

I joined a host's Defender mission.

He promptly left and then my crew member joined me...

We spawned literally over a mile out to sea, AT THE BOTTOM OF THE f*ckING SEA. Both made it to the top...and Merryweather's boat came in handy once in it's life.

This is the reason I prefer to play R* created missions like Coveted.... always exact spawns... but damn some of those NPC missions are a blast, mostly the heli/airplane oriented ones.

Start your own damn job anywhere you want. Whats the point of bitching about it.

Like I said. I enjoy the drive. Im not in a f*ckin hurry. I got two characters at lvl 135 and lvl 50 and I LOVE f*ckIN DRIVING.

Like I said. Start you own jobs if you can`t handle a little drive.

I mean, what about players wanting to get a buzzard for a job.. If they start at Sandy Shorers they have to drive allll the waaaaay back to LS to get it.

Its not a big deal. Driving is the best part of GTA for me.

Wow.. people will complain about everything.

I'll say this though, stop crashing and taking my armor off before we even get there!

Obviously... The OP can't drive...lol

Takes him 10 minutes to drive down grove street. No wonder he hates driving...

Like the people who think taking a "shortcut" over Mt Chiliad in a supercar is a good idea, killing themselves, their passengers and their car in the process.

how do you know where the start is though??

jobs you get from contacts aren't on the map and all I get is a distance counter (which doesn't update live)

Takes 10 minutes to get to the location.

Takes 10 seconds for the game to kill all my teammates when we get there.

I like driving around as much as anyone, but, that is what free roam is for. I try to get within 100 meters of the mission start point before I launch it. Keeps the people playing the mission together because how lost can you get in 100 meters? From what I've seen, pretty f*cking lost! Still see almost everyone of them run to their cars while I beat them to the start point on foot.

I personally don't mind the drive, it is fun and if you're a lower level you can work on leveling up your driving stats.
