Top Speed Stat

According to the Entity XF Wikia page, it's top speed is 240mph.

Last night I got in mine (with all performance mods) and drove down straightest highway I could find as fast as I possibly could for ~5 minutes without crashing.

Now, on my stats page my fastest speed in the Entity is only 153.39mph, so what's going on here? (Yes, it's up to date)

According to the Koenigsegg CCX WIkipedia page it takes 14 seconds to reach 124mph, so if this bares any resemblance to the Entity's performance, surely it wouldn't take the remaining ~286 seconds (~4.76 mins) in my ~5 minute test to gain an additional 116mph?

So basically my question is, how the heck do you get a vehicle to it's top speed?

Note: This is not a complaint thread, I'm just curious and based on a lot of the performance analysis threads posted on here, some people understand the physics of the cars on GTA pretty well and might be able to shed some light on this question. I'm not mad bro about this, just confused.

The top speed of vehicles has been cut in MP, probably so the rendering and pop out issues aren't as prevalent.

That's the only reason really. Reaching top speeds can be done with the gate/train glitch (pretty much the same as the IV swing glitch), or driving down a steep hill will get you a few extra MPH. In SP you can reach the speeds the wiki tells you.

Insane speeds are reached by hackers, thats it. I know i've driven my Adder 240MPH with Micheal, 250 or so with Franklin.

Well that explains it I suppose, cheers.

Entity is speed limited to 155mph in MP ... I got 154.6mph on a very long straight but those att few mph are difficult, so your 153 and a bit is correct behaviour

The Adder leaves the Entity in dust when it comes to speed.

But thats nothing compared to a stretch....

Try using Franklin, Adder and drive on the wrong side of the streets and use his ability. Within a few sec you'll go almost twice the speed you'll reach in MP. With T&M it takes a bit longer, but they will also reach 200 MPH+.

3 Days ago - http://gtaforums.com/topic/657131-maximum-speed-test/

Hey dudes, for all who care about some facts here you have the maximum speed of some cars.

I test it at the story mode, with full upgraded tunes. I got the results shown in km/h, but this cant be true, so i calculated into mph.

I started from the slowest to fastest car.

Elegy rh8 - 202mph or 325km/h

Monroe – 209mph or 336 km/h

Entity – 214mph or 344 km/h

Adder – idk – he was slower :))) I would like to know the speed of it, if you want to post it.

I dont know if there is a different between online and story mode... the gta stats site gives me impossible facts.

Online i set my personaly speed record with a monroe (not all tuned) with 147 mph.

Thats shows me that the speed gets higher with tuning, even it didnt get showed. Or smt is just wrong.

Ps. sorry for my english..its late :)

Max

The stats arround driving didnt got updated the last days.

knock the two front tires off an adder at the airport and for some reason it stays in first gear got up to 204MPH driving down the runway you cant turn worth a sh*t but if you keep it straight it f*cking moves.

Actually just checked it's now 233MPH

I cant get any faster then 184 mph with the Adder online.

this top speed was reached in the Commute coming out of the slipstream.

whats your topspeed and how did you get it? (other then driving fast)

edit: when looking at the leaderboard fastest speed, I'm on place 150 !!

not bad considering the first pages are over 800 mph

So you're comparing a real car to an arcade like performing car?

Sir Michael

Website stats are just for show... GTA has a speed limiter (150-160 MPH?) that only Franklin's special ability and slipstream can break, albeit for short timeframes. I've hit 173.15 MPH in my Turismo, but only because I got a fat slipstream in a race. Lol
