Molotovs?

Played The Los Santos Connection and this guy was throwing molotovs out the back of my Buffalo.

 

Thing is, they looked REALLY legit, a bottle with fire coming out of it and everything just like in GTAIV.

 

Is this a mod or something? Or maybe I didn't get the memo?

they can be picked up in some deathmatch as well i think. never had them.. i don't understand why they won't let us buy them

Merriweather ammo drops give you 3 molotovs.

My favourite thing to do in GTA4 was a gta race at the airport then trap people in the 'cage' near the south tower at the airport and molotov them as they spawn.

 

Do this while mashing L1 "look at the biiiirdie" "hey there heeeey" "mmmm I'd throw that on a pot and cook it" "look at those buns of frickin steel"

They are useless fire dies nothing on this game 1 bottle takes away almost no health. Fire is pointless on this game.

I got some from my first crate drop, sadly didn't use them and didn't realise they went when you log out. D'oh!

The reason they disappear is because any weapon you pick up is not considered owned. I'm pretty sure you can collect ammo drops until they are maxed out at 25, but that would be a waste of time since you are going to loose them. Also, you can't pick up the ammo drop if all your guns are full, so you have to fire off a shot from one of the weapons in the drop to pick the box up, even if you don't have molotovs. For some reason, it only recognizes your gun ammo being full, and not your molotov slot.
