Shame England cheated their way to their only World Cup win in 1966

You lost to better players

 The English being the better players... That sounds weird :p

Btw, how Müller did not win the Player of the tournament award is totally beyond me. Messi... of course :D

I agree it sounds weird today, but back then we were better, #fact

As said above, the reason Muller didn't get the award is because he rolls on the floor to get players booked and sent off. There are more honourable players within the German team who are every bit as good as him technically.

Jimbatron and Hodgey you are just so butthurt. PS. The Wembley "goal" was not a goal: This was proven through the analysis of the way of the ball in old footage from the game. The ball was on the goal line and not behind.

Hodgey chances are good that you will never experience a world cup win. Sorry to all the English people who are not assholes.

f*ck me get a sense of humor Stephan like Der_Don. You say I'm butthurt even though I'm just having a laugh, yet you bring up 'proven analysis'? :facedesk:

The only thing, that everybody should agree on, is that Germany could barely win yesterday. Argentina had so many chances to score in situations where it's a striker vs. German's goal keeper only, and yet the striker doesn't send the ball into the goal. In an ideal world, Argentina should have won, but in reality, Germany have.

I wouldn't go there knowing that the 1990 penalty in the final was not a penalty. ;)

Minute 7:20

It was karma though, for the hand of god. :pp

Doesn't matter if you laugh or cry. I don't care.

A study conducted by the engineering department at Oxford University concluded that the ball did not cross the line entirely and that it was 6 cm away from being a goal. And Oxford is not in Germany.

Neuer was NEVER a red card, nor a foul. Wasnt a free kick for any side either. Neuer hits the ball first in the penalty area.

These stats don't mean anything for me. I don't remember German attacks where it's striker vs. goalkeeper. Argentina had like 4 or 5 of these attacks. German's on-target shots are mostly shots outside the penalty area. Again, Argentina's off target attempts had like 4 or 5 where it's striker vs. goalkeeper only.

You just confirmed my claim... I can already name Schürrle's shot at the beginning of ET or Höwedes header after a corner. Let alone Götze's goal. And if you think that only 1v1 against the keeper is a legit chance, then sorry but I cant take you serious...

Especially if you think that it makes them deserve the win more... lol

Ha ha, this is brilliant. You say we are the ones who are but hurt and you are complaining about what you perceive to be a 38 year old injustice the day after your victory? How sad.

For the record, A) it was over, and B) your players were knackered, that's why it finished 4-2.

A bigger, more recent injustice was 2010 when Frank Lampard levelled for 2-2 before half time and it wasn't given. Still, credit where it is due, Germany were the better team that day and deserved to win irrespective of that decision.

I'm not sure where you get the perception I'm but hurt from either. My first post after the final was to congratulate Germany. It was a tight game, but as I said beforehand, I felt either Argentina, Germany or the Netherlands would have been worth winners, but credit to Germany they took their chance in the final.

Perhaps you don't like my critique of Muller? I'm sorry, I don't like the fact he play acts to get the opposition booked or sent off. It's not an anti German thing, Lahm is a player I have a lot of time for and is a much more appropriate role model. This is important when you name someone "Player of the Tournament". If you can't admit your own players shortcomings it smacks of a lack of objectivity. No one was more critical of Rooney than me for his red card in 2006, I wasn't going to defend him just for being English. But I'll also give him and other players a chance for redemption. If Muller cuts out the theatrics, I'll give him credit where it's due.

Well, at least off-target attempts inside the penalty area are better than on-target attempts outside the penalty area. That shows which team played better at defense most of the time and which one had a better chance of scoring, which is Argentina.

I don't like trolling. I'm just posting my observations. I've just watched a highlights video of the match and I'm still sure that Argentina had a bigger chance of winning. I primarily base this opinion on the fact that they lost a good number of chances in situations where it's only striker against goal keeper. Give the ball to Ronaldo of Brazil in these situations and he would happily be able to score them all.

Gutted it's all over, it's been a good month of quality football, bring on Russia 2018! Well deserved win from Germany, it was nice to see as European team win in South America.
