RatchetAZ Posted December 5, 2013 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Its a valid question, despite the city isn't enormous but a decent size and say 80 something % of the buildings are accommodation and the rest to be work based. Taking into consideration the amount of homes in the game, apartment buildings, condos, and small towns in the countryside, I'd put the total island's population to be roughly 300,000-600,000 on the realistic spectrum, 600,000-1,000,000 on the "pushing-it" side. Whereas Los Angeles in real life is one of the largest and most significant metropolitan cities in the US, I'd say Los Santos in the GTA universe is more esque to a place like Pittsburgh or Cincinnati, just with alot of famous people, hence it's popularity and significance in pop-culture.
