You know, if you bought a car with standard cruise control marked on the window sticker and then were told that its just a free add on that may not work right, and then used it and it floored the pedal putting you into a wall, it'd be a totally different story. Don't let a game company jerk you around because "it's just a game". The consumer has the right to have proper access to the product they buy. If the manufacturer doesn't hold up to their advertised promises, then they are liable; plain and simple. The principle is the same

Is this car a production model that has been tested over time or just released? Newly released cars will have technical problems too.

That depends on how you look at it. GTA was tested. They didn't make the public fully aware there would be problems. I know I wasn't aware of any issues when first purchasing the game. I didn't start coming on the forums until customer support started giving me the shaft. Had I known there were problems ahead of time, I wouldn't have bought it. Kinda like Toyota and their throttle control sensor problems a few years ago.

It sort of comes down to the definition of "testing" a product and "warning" about "possible problems". Those all are gray area aspects of industry that don't have exact definitions so companies have loopholes to slip through. Similar to what NHTSA does to define a "custom car" where technically you can be penalized for anything.

I feel like they dropped the volleyball and basketball with the beach bum update. Sure hope every update isn't just more of the same with a crappy theme.

Im just worried all they have lined up for us to spend our money on is new cars from the dlcs, causing us to replace ones weve already spent millions on.

This would seem to be implied by the pink slip racing dlc, dont know what to do with your millions from the heist dlc? buy upgrades and lose cars in a pink slip race dont worry just do another heist replace car rinse and repeat!

A little bit of realism, I want to have to pay taxes, start a family, have a midlife crisis, buy a sports car, sleep with a girl half my age, have a drinking problem and finally jump off a bridge.

I agree with One Poor Fool. There aren't enough long-term goals in GTA:O. Everyone bought the high-end apartment when the cash incentive came through (if they hadn't already bought it before hand.) Most people have ten custom cars filling their maxed-out garages.

Rockstar want this game to last people years. But after two months, some people have legitimately maxed out what this game has to offer. They are not saving for anything.

With nothing else to aim for, Heists will become a short-term distraction because the money will be meaningless.

I expect more from this computer game.

Really? You expected more from a $50 current-gen computer game? Really?

How many hours have u put into GTA Online? No-lifers have played this game too much, hence the "im lvl120, what now?" threads.....If you've played this game constantly since release and now you're bored, go figure.

EDIT I remember when I played Warcraft, they'd release a new pack raising the level cap and within a couple days some sad sacks would have finished it already, and be complaining that they're bored again.

Not trying to blindly defend Rockstar here but you try and find another full console game that offers new content more regularly than every two weeks. Just have some patience, it will come.

Exactly, its a computer game, I have a few million dollars so anything is concievable. Remember the Scarface video game? All the cool sh*t you could buy in that? Astronaut suit statues , shark tanks, ming vases and yachts. For example, better safehouses for one, mansions perhaps, another garage, ability to customise the safehouse with tvs couches etc, npcs to hire for your gang, golf putting course in your back garden, golf caddy for golfing, personalised golf clubs, jacuzzi to sing in to gain a little RP,GTA universe expensive artwork, poker table, dartboard for your safehouse, home cinema, pool table, how about businesses that create a return? All of these are possible to implement and would be welcomed by anyone I would presume.

Comparing GTA V, the biggest, fastest selling, most critically-acclaimed game ever made, to Scarface, one of the cheesiest pieces of sh*t ever scraped onto a disc = argument rendered instantly invalid.

Again, it's no surprise you're bored of this game if you've done nothing but play it since launch. Take a break, go outside, smoke a blunt, go see a movie, then come back, you'll enjoy it more.

I very much do think that Rockstar is dropping the ball, but not so much on the content level as they are on taking action against hackers, cheaters and glitchers and closing the holes. Their attitude towards taking action, or lack thereof, is creating a PC like environment where over 50% of the player base cheated, hacked or glitched in one way or another. Specifically for the XBOX, I'm also very dissappointed in Microsoft for the same reason. It's so easy to spot the leaderboard hackers for instance... MS should wield the ban hammer on them hardcore.

Content wise, given the beta status that GTA:O is still in, I guess we have to be patient. Also take into account that MS takes about a full week for their certification thingy (basicly a game interaction compliance test).

In a whole the game feels very much like a mid nineties PC game with online capabilities and the way it is and has been managed so far.

Agreed. Worst thing is how accepted and discussed it is. On some forums and in some "communities", cheating and glitching are actually frowned upon, here, on the other hand, it aint no thing.

Half the threads are discussing glitching/cheating, the other half are people complaining that they're bored of the game because they've played it non-stop since launch, so what do you expect. Shocking community, shocking forum, absolute scumbags.

I have played since day 1 with almost all of my free time since launch. I am level 170, great apartment, boat, plane, chopper and a full garage of modded cars. I dont glitch or cheat. I am still perfectly happy entertaining myself with the existing jobs and sports. Anyone who lacks the imagination to find entertainment in a game with so many possibilities and openess and decides to leave after only two months is not going to have what it takes to make anything worthwhile with the content creator when it does arrive. You might as well tell your friends to stay gone because returning would be a waste of time.

The problem with many gamers I see today is that they fail to understand the concept of enjoying a long hike being just as important as reaching the hikes destination. If your idea of playing gta is to play each mission once and buy all available items and thinking your done...or to glitch through cash and rp to get the best stuff as fast as possible your missing 90% of what this type of game is about. If your not enjoying the journey then you are in the wrong game genre. No ammount of additional items to buy will change this. No amount of additional jobs, hiests, or creators will ever make this game better for you.

I personally am perfectly content with the progress so far and would much prefer they plug up all of the glitches and exploits before adding one more thing to what already exists.

Ask me in 3 or 4 years if I am bored or think they dropped the ball...asking after two months simply shows your impatience.

GTA V the biggest fastest selling game ever made, and the first dlc is a broken bottle, sh*tty pistol and pink/orange shorts, im not comparing it to Scarface, but it had a little more imagination than what you can do with your cash, and that was a playstation 2 game.

Im not bored of the game, I never said that, Im just hoping they will bring in better features, is that allowed?

Beach Bum wasn't DLC, it was a free pack included in a patch. Derp.

EDIT: And how are you not comparing it to Scarface? Why even mention it then? I bought Scarface, it was an abomination.

And what do beach bums have to do with a game based around robbing banks?DLC, additional content, free pack, whatever, Ive proved my point, this online has a lot of potential, I just hope they get a little more imaginative with it. I mean if a high end apartment and 10 upgraded cars is all that you want from the game then good for you.

So, is he comparing or isnt he? Scarface was a PS2 game, it wasnt even mulitplayer, and it was a massive pile of sh*t, and thats coming from someone who loves the movie. Why even mention that nonsense in the same breath as GTA?

No you haven't. Beach Bum was a free pack to keep the "WE WANT DLC STRAIGHT AWAY IM BORED COCKSTAR SUCK" crowd happy. Proper DLC will come.
